warning: probably
<- I do that a lot.
My experience plus a bit of common sense leads me to believe that CBD is the ONLY effective treatment for some epilepsy. Mind you, i'm no scientist, but what if your body doesn't make/use/metabolize/wtfelse 2AG (or other cannabinoids) sufficiently ? That'd be kinda like... a deficiency, right ? So... you take a supplement. Sure, you can mask symptoms via RX, as many people with intractable or otherwise severe epilepsy do. In my case, prescriptions seem to prevent "random" seizures, but do damn near nothing to reduce triggered seizures, which represent the vast majority. Cannabis, on the other hand, prevents triggers from causing seizures.
This is one of those uses for MMJ that seems so incredibly clear-cut. The role of endocannabinoids in the brain (epilepsy included) isn't a fairy tale or mystery yet phytocannabinoids, quite possibly the only effective treatment for many individuals with otherwise intractable epilepsy remains a felony. Shame.
As certain as i am that many individuals with epilepsy have lost their lives as a result of otherwise preventable seizures, i'm equally convinced i'd be dead right now if not for cannabis. Anyhoo, that's my $2.
