Anyone on FC end up getting the pendant piece from Simba? Hadn't heard about that or the frits on the flower pieces...curious is all.

My concentrate frit is running well and lookin good (though I guess I am the only one - at least on FC who got a decent one)

Diggin it, but bummed to hear about the issues for others, makes me a bit paranoid about mine...though I think I'm safe as I've given at numerous rinses/cleanings without issue.

I noticed on the MD page that someone is getting an additional pendant beaker for his issues/troubles. You get an offer like that @Deadshort480 ? Sucks about him shifting some blame to the mail carriers, but seems he's trying to make it right in other respects... Like I said initially in my review post - I'm torn.

Picked up my Simba frit water piece from the mail forwarder and brought it home to open on lunch break. Gave it a quick look over and did a simple rinse with water just to see. Nothing is broken or cracked that I saw...it was wrapped VERY abundantly in bubble wrap which was nice to see. There are several tiny "scratces/dings/dots" on the downstem holder or whatever you call that part of the piece...and on the lower joint near the weld there is a nice bubble. The frit on my Simba is just like the picture on the MassDrop site except instead of white and black it's dark green and black with the outside ring black (not the most atttractive color choice but hey "might very in color" was in the description to be fair). The flower bowl that cane with it (nice looking, thick, no cosmetic faults) fits weird as fuck, it sits like 1mm in and seems like its stem will break easily. Good thing I don't need to use it, 'cause FC

I haven't used the piece yet so I can't comment on functionality...I'll see if I can post pictures and maybe a video tonight or over the weekend.

Overall the piece is OK looking. I'm not super stoked on it but not mad in any way, just kind of "meh" on it. It could be all of the negative surrounding it before getting it in my hands, but imo it's a $250+ piece, it SHOULD be nicer. My $29 D020 Chinese glass piece came in better cosmetic condition, no exageration there hehe.

Nice. My choice too.

The Rasta is cool...very understated. Look back a few pages I posted a picture I lifted from ALT of the Rasta.

I mostly use my EVO or Solo. Remember it is a 14mm male fitting (in case you need to get some adapters...for EVO a 14mm Female> 18mm Female).

My return package arrived last Thursday, and I emailed today asking when I can expect a refund. Ash replied just now saying he has issued a refund and I can except it to show up on my statement soon. I'd be a bit annoyed if he deducts shipping, especially since I already paid for the shipping back...

Oh well, that wraps up my first experience with Massdrop and American glass...

I am actually happy to report that I received my White Lion replacement piece from Simba. After careful inspection, I can't find anything wrong with it with the exception of a small bubble here and there. I am glad that Simba sent me the replacement of my choice, but none of this would have been necessary if they just paid better attention to QC.

I get what you are saying 100% but to be fair your order didn't need to be fixed, you were a "satisfied" customer to them...they didn't owe anything to you or feel the need to make it up. I think the stretch was a bit far from oil rig to white lion yes, but Simba was in a corner on this one and I think they did the right thing...I mean @Deadshort480 piece was not just a little messed up it was completely FU$%ED UP. Maybe if it was some cosmetic stuff nothing crazy they would stick to their offer of a replacement or refund but that kind of damage, as a company, you better want to go a bit beyond to please the customer!

I understand what you're saying but it's a stretch to say I was a "satisfied" customer. I actually did contact Massdrop support over the joint in mine and wasn't offered a replacement. I was given a choice between refund or SOL. I went with SOL since I actually wanted the piece and already had reducers out the wazoo.

All I can say is that I hope Simba, Massdrop, and we as consumers all learned something from this experience. Simba should have learned to be much more on the spot when it comes to quality control. Massdrop should learn that from time to time vendors are going to screw up and they (Massdrop) need to take care of the situation. We as consumers should learn that not everyone is striving to put out the best possible product they can and that perhaps sometimes spending a bit more on an item you can see with your own eyes and feel with your own hands is the better option.

I've learned that I will most likely not be using Massdrop again unless I am weakened by one of their offerings and that this replacement is the only piece of Simba glass I will ever own.
