Success! I got the butter separated out and my wife made some oatmeal/cinnamon chip cookies. I've had 4 of them (they were a little small) and am feeling good right now.

Yea you have to be very careful, my wife has seen quite a few marijuana toxicities in her practice so we kinda know where we need to be for the safe range after speaking with the toxicologist multiple times on other cases. She has seen them in the seizure, coma, death area many times before because pets get into peoples stash. Happily I can say that she has treated them successfully in almost all her cases.

I appreciate your words of warning and they should be taken into serious consideration by anyone who is thinking of doing what my wife and I are going to do. My dog is sick with advanced liver disease and we just want him to have a good quality of life and this may be something that will help with that. As with anything new you start out small until you find a therapeutic dose.

Tills, i've always been curious about cannabis as medicine in dogs. For years, i worked as a vet tech and i always wondered about it, specifically as an anti-emetic in canines.

I just had to put my sweet old dog down last night due to advanced kidney failure, so this strikes a chord. I hope you are able to provide some comfort to your friend in this way. They give us so much, ensuring a good quality of life towards the end is the least we can do for them.

We are very sorry for your loss herbgirl. Yes we are hoping to hit a anti-emetic dose along with the appetite stimulant as my dog has had a few episodes of vomiting. Right now I give him a shot of Anzemet for his nausea. We have just switched him off of dog food and onto boiled chicken and rice. I doubt he will go back to dog food now that he has been spoiled with table food. I just want him to be happy.

Yes it is very sad to see them like this. He is my "little man." It is a jip that we only get to enjoy their companionship for such a small amount of time. The best thing I can do for him right now is make him as happy as possible and not let him suffer at all. We are pretty sure he had a pretty significant bleed into his liver 3 days ago. My wife believes that we are in the "weeks" stage of his life now.

i used 35g of AVB to 300g of butter. simmered for an hour and a half .... filtered and put in fridge. scraped up once it went hard , into a new container , put that in the microwave for 3 min.... put it back int he fridge to cool again. continued to harden and separate from the last bit of shit...... cooked brownies. cut into 1" square

there way to strong... gonna cut them in half again to share

Made my Sam Jackson Motha Fuckin Cannabutter into 1935's Best Chocolate Chip Cookie (an old recipe from grandma) from scratch

They taste amazing and 24g's into the 2 sticks of butter made 24 motha fuckin cookies....perfect!!

Edit: I'm baked. This is what I will be doing with my ABV for a while

Big Kahuna Burger Cookies

3/4 cup Sam Jackson Cannabutter (2 sticks (1 cup) before cooking ended up being 3/4 cup after cooking, original recipe called for 2/3 cup but a little extra makes them that much better)
1.5 cups flour
.5 cup white sugar
.5 cup brown sugar (packed)
.5 tsp salt
.5 tsp baking soda
1 egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
6oz chocolate chips

mix butter, egg, and sugars
add the rest

scoop golf ball size balls on a baking sheet

13min @ 350F

How does grinding it make it 50% lighter? I lightly coffee ground 24g's and the cookies are real good. I will prob go 30g next batch.

Yes the pic/recipe are the same. Fucking incredible. The 2 sticks of butter (1 cup total) ended up being about 3/4 cup when done. The recipe actually called for 2/3 cup i think but anywhere from 2/3 to a whole cup should be fine. I should edit that. The 1 cup butter was what I started with before adding abv and cooking. A little extra butter never hurts a cookie

You can definately taste a hint of abv/weed in them but the cookies themselves are out of this world and the combo of the flavors is awesome.

And ive been on a diet/exercising everyday since new years (-18lbs to date!). I like only keeping "special" cookies around because I know I cant get the munchies and eat 5 or 6 of them haha

Its that enough for the 2 sticks of butter. I realize that it's a subjective question but I want my cookies to pack a punch.

Nice work on dropping the lbs. My journey started last year with the running of a 10-mile marathon (first time 1:35:44 & that was when I smoked) Started nutri system with the wife this week. As far as diets go it's pretty damn good. Eirher way being healthy is tough.


Been a Steelers fan my whole life (Lions are my home team so you can see why) so I'm pulling for them. Did you make it up to Detroit for the 2006 Superbowl? Detroit did a great job.

A cup sounds about right. That's about how much the 24g's was before i ground it some. Then it looked like 2/3's cup. It may look like less because its more compacted but its the same amount less some dust collected inside the grinder.

I was working 3 jobs during that Superbowl so I couldn't make it (oh how i wanted to go). When we get to the bowl in NY i'll probably go

Got 2 dozen big cookies using the recipe on the back if the tollhouse chocolate chip bag using ground ABV from about an ounce. Herb girl said 3 tablespoons is approximately 10 grams. I had about 5 tablespoons which I'm guessing was in the 17 grams range for the 2 sticks of butter I used to make canabutter. Ate 8 cookies over a 10 hour period and was comatose. Too extreme but I wanted to know the limit.

The cheesecloth worked very poorly to strain the fine grind as much of it went through. If I were to do it again Id place a coffee filter in between two sheets of cheesecloth to capture the "soot" Didnt matter though I still couldnt taste the ABV. More ABV and smaller cookies would also be ideal (maybe 25-30 grams) so one cookie would do the trick.
