Having moved from NJ to FL....I don't miss shoveling the stuff but I sure do miss getting baked and walking down to the school where there was this huge hill with my kids and our sleds.....

To those up north .... hope your salt, snow-blowers, shovels and galoshes are ready to go and that your sleds, skis, skates are ready for the snow-day-off you'll be having tomorrow.

I would be making sure all my portables were charged up and I had plenty of product on hand. Also the car charger is always a good thing with a portable. Start the car up and charge up the portable vape if need be.

I have the No. 2 with 3 extra batteries that I use when going camping and a car charger.

I've been watching here and there for hours

I watched as people shut lights off and went to bed.

I could see some guys TV in a window, he stayed up to 115am his time watching and then it shut off.

And snow plows go down the street every so often, once it was a simple pick up truck but the other times it's been a garbage truck with plow attached.

Don't forget about the deep south. Frigid cold down here in FL as well. 13 degrees out currently. My area is hoping for a high tomorrow of 20 and a low of 9 degrees. I might even have to break out the Space Heater<gasp>
Freezing does not even truly describe the weather here at the moment.

@canj00digit? -- I feel like like that show you linked to will become the new "Seinfeld". It gives off that quirky NY vibe. It's a little slow right now and the jokes are few and far between(reminds me of "Newhart" a little), but I can't quit watching. DVR fucking set for this one, for sure! My favorite is the Grey 300, quiet, but his expressions and body language have me in stitches. Thanks for sharing!!

When The Holy Plow finally appeared again, as my wife saw it on her phone as she unpacked the shopping I was bringing in and called to me and I ran to see it and we yelled in celebration.

Why? I have no fucking idea.
But it was fun.

My east coast friends all told me I would hate winter in Western Washington because "it rains all the time".

It doesn't actually rain all the time, but, all the time, it has recently rained.

However, I have yet to have to use my rain shovel to clear the driveway.

But I hope they are snuggled in and safe and cozy for this one.

Looks like New York was pretty much spared from the worst of it. Never fails to amaze me when people are pissed off when the forecast aren't perfect for their area. Way better to over estimate than underestimate, it would seem to me. Being over prepared rarely hurt anyone.

The fact is, since other areas DID get slammed badly, any overestimates need to be forgiven.

I would feel bad about further derailing, but let's face it, this thread is done.

So about that 8 inches of snow that New York freaked out about.

Also, what do you guys think about cities closing streets to the public during these storms and making it a ticketed offense of $300? New York closed streets at 11pm for what ended up being 8 inches of snow...
