I see, is there a way to do that with a stationary vape?
I have a Pax but it doesn't get me high at all :(

Question guys, I see everybody talking about taking a puff every 5 minutes.
This is impossible with a stationary vaporizer, if I fill up a bag in my Volcano or Arizer Extreme Q the vape only lasts for about 5-10 minutes. After that it's not very fresh.

Elekamit I don't know how you would do it with only a bag or a whip vape. as Kingofnull said log vapes will always be at the ready for a quick hit or two . Vaporizers like the MFLB ,FV , Palm 2.0 ,vapor genie Lotus ,vapeman and a few others allow you to make vapor on demand.The Solo works well with just a pinch of Herb like a log vape . you could do it with the pax just remember it uses more herb .

I don't own a whip vape so I don't really know the specifics of their design, but if you can remove the whip easily enough you could do thew same with a whipe vape.
not with bag though

key is that the weed/hash can be isolated from the heat while you're not inhaling the vapor, with my UD(log vape) that's easy, with my VG it happens naturally since a flame+inhalation delivers the heat
but my DV is better suited for sessions with hits following eachother closely, since the weed goes inside the unit itself(and the heater needs a few moment to get up to temp)

maybe with a bag you could try either not fully inflating the bag, or loading less and get thinner vapor?
only used a bag once(and that one was already inflated for me)

I used to use the Pax before I switched over to a log vape and I, too, was beginning to use a lot of herb and I seemed less able to get high. Once I switched over, though, my usage went way down. I don't really plan on going back to the Pax unless I have to.

No, it is just not possible with the 2 vapes you own is what you mean. I have no problem taking one hit and stopping with the underdog or the cloud. Its just a downside to bags really due to the nature of how they work unfortunately.

I have a pax and it also doesn't get me NEARLY as high as other portables that use a fraction of the bud. I'm thinking of my cera right now. One pax load is about FIVE cera bowls, and the pax has weaker effects. I'm all but positive my pax is a tolerance ruining vape, which is a shame because I like how simple it is.

I just puff every three hours, BUT the important part, is to have some type of food before puffing. If I want energy, I eat dried fruits, and some type of nut or seed. The fat helps keep the high going for a while, and the protein prevents me from being lazy, due to the dopamine being made from the tyrosine. Add to the fact that the fruit gets the sympathetic nervous system going from the sugar, so the extra energy from that is a plus. Having some tea of coffee, helps also.These things also add to the high, and make it more intense, in a "moving" type of way.

When I want to chill, I eat some type of nut or seed, but instead of fruit, I eat some type of complex carbohydrate that is low in protein like rice or corn, due to the high tryptophan that is available for the brain, and some type of green vegetable, to keep it from being absorbed fast, which will give me an "up" type of feeling if it is. This helps me get that lazy, deep sleep, high, I want at night.

It's all about food. THC suppresses appetite, while CBD increases appetite, I think. This can get your body confused sometimes, at least mine, and I'll be needing to eat to get my blood sugar up but not really feel like eating.

Thing is not to eat too much though, otherwise you can get super tired/drowsy/groggy. So it's best to eat something that can satisfy you without making you sleepy. I personally think sugary fruit is the way to go and eat just a little bit of it throughout the entire day. What I eat, how I eat, and when I eat greatly effects my high.

Also I find small doses of coffee throughout the day synergizes really well with my buzz and keeps it from getting too downy. I think it's better to sip the coffee more like whiskey and try to make a cup last as long as you can. Plus coffee has a shit ton of antioxidants in it.

Now I don't think I necessarily recommend what I'm about to say next, but it helps me when I hit the "wall" with my high. I think we all know the "wall" I'm speaking of. As a preface, I have paradoxical reactions to medications, plus my brain is pretty screwy/imbalanced, plus I have allergies... but sometimes when I hit the "wall" I will take one 25 mg pill of benadryl (diphenhydramine) and it will clear up my head, removes the wall to a certain degree, and makes my high more upper/energized. Now most people get drowsy/pass out from taking benadryl, so keep that in mind before trying it.

With all that said, everyone is different and it's all about knowing your mind and body. There's so many different factors. Best bet is, throughout the day, take notice of all the little things you do while you vape and try to correlate everything in microdetail. This comes natural for me, being OCD, ADD, and just plain bat-shit crazy, but I find that once you start noticing the little things, you can perfect your rituals.

Yep, happens to me all the time. ABV that would do nothing to me at night, after vaping all day, when vaped in the morning, without barely even seeing any vapor, will get me buzzed.

The wall is our enemy. I hate the wall. Only wall I like is Pink Floyd's Wall. :razz:

We need to find other ways of destroying/preventing the wall.

I actually think I got that backwards, and the THC is the appetite stimulant and the CBD is the suppressant. Actually CBD can help certain people with anxiety eat because it will get rid of the anxiety which is the main cause of their suppression, but for the most part I think it's a appetite suppressant.

Okay, because I'm pretty new to cannabis, I don't really know what the wall is. I'm guessing it's when you can't get any higher? So, my question is does taking higher doses when you hit the wall allow you to break through the wall? Another question is what if you got just a little high initially? Would a wall still develop? Or do you only get the wall effect if you gott really high initially?

In my own usage I've noticed that sometimes I expect a bowl to get me high, because that same amount had before, but it ends up not doing anything, and usually this is after I've already been vaping during the day. I'm guessing this is the wall.

The wall seems to have a bunch of factors that not even I know.

How high you get initially sometimes does and doesn't have an effect on the wall. Sometimes you can get only a little high initially and hit the wall just as fast as if you were to get really high initially.
Plus the first high of the day is usually the best, so I wouldn't waste that high in an attempt to not hit the wall.

Best way for me to defeat the wall is to eat something. Sometimes you can hit the wall quicker than anticipated because you're out of energy to keep a euphoric high. Eat something and then vape again and you can continue to get higher. A little coffee during this period can help too.

But sometimes you can never break through the wall and you just might as well stop vaping and go to sleep.

I suggest to start taking whole food (not synthetic) multivitamins/minerals and fish oil and maybe a nootropic once a day. I'd say this could help with your high.

Also sometimes you just get use to the high. You're high without even realizing it. Sometimes, if I get like that, I will get up and go talk to/interact with another human-being in person, and my euphoria will kick back in because just talking to that person makes me realize I'm stoned.

Also going for a brief, comfortable walk and getting some fresh air seems to help.

Having multiple strains on hand can help with the wall.

You could always make edibles. Won't have to worry about any wall then. Actually, you'd have to be worried (or not) about not having a wall and getting too high.

Anyway, anytime you hit the wall, try eating some sugary fruit. Cannabis lowers your blood sugar, and if your blood sugar is too low, you're going to hit the wall and not be able to get over it without getting your sugar levels back up.

And make sure you're hydrated!

Oh and a good night's sleep can have a big effect on your high. Sleep too little, high won't be as good, sleep too long, high won't be as good.

Fuck agreed there. When I consume half a gram of hash in an edible at once, I don't feel any wall. I'm high for twelve hours :ko:

It almost makes you wonder, "why vape at all?" Is that an appropriate question to bring up on a forum that's dedicated to vaporization? :p

Back to the wall, it almost seems like my brain resets or reboots like a PC, that is almost completely independent of anything causing it. Almost like it's on some sort of timer.

For example: You vape all day, you get towards the end of the day, you're groggy, you've hit the wall, but you decide to take one more hit, and for some reason that hit gets you much more buzzed then the hit you literally took maybe 30 mins before, with barely anything being different. I'm not sure if it's just a second-wind or something different than that, though.

we all have our perspective on it but to me (at least up till now) i view "the wall" as a reminder to change versus lets break through this. my change could be ritual or it could be beyond the scope of herbs such has physical activity, foods, scenery, experiences, friendships, etc. inner and outer growth appears more accelerated and less stunted when you flow versus plow.

im still learning, thankfully. i try to apply the mindset of "the more you know the less you need", ultimately its where i want to be (there is no spoon/wall). anyways, you gonna hit that? :bang: :science: :D

I'm enjoying learning about "The Wall". I had never heard of it before I saw it mentioned in this thread.

For some reason, to me at least, "The Wall" strikes me as some sort of "higher truth" not meant for the ears of the unworthy seeker of cannabis knowledge. For one thing, why have I not heard of it before? I've followed this forum as well as others but this is the first mention of it that I've seen. It's like I've stumbled onto a bit of rare knowledge not known by the casual hobbiest but very beneficial to the dedicated enthusiast.

All of which is to say that it just makes me want to learn more. :)

I have hit the Wall, once or twice.

Usually, it seems to me to be like, my endocannabidoidal receptors are all full, but my mind/emotions aren't on track for a "happy high"... nothing will be able to hit the receptors, so I'm stuck there.

I just went to bed, and let it go. It was gone by morning.

I think I do, as I went through this years ago. Years ago when I first started my routine of getting healthy, I wasn't eating a lot, and eating enough of the right foods, so one day I just couldn't get high off of the herb I was puffing. I thought I needed a stronger batch of herbs, but when I did get some, the effect still wasn't what it should have been, considering how strong the herb was.

I then realized you hit the wall if your blood sugar is low, which happened to me because I was always working out off of low food intake. Over the years, I also realized how you puff effects if you hit the wall or not. When we inhale a thick cloud, we are activating our sympathetic nervous system a lot, and this uses up the sugars in our bodies. This is why you get the rush, the thicker the cloud is. The bad thing about this is, every time you take a thick cloud puff you lower your chances of getting higher, and higher. The way to combat this is to use small amounts of herb, and adjust the temperature in increments on each inhale, to the point where there is barely a cloud. This allows the lungs to think regular air is going into the lungs, so it will stay in parasympathetic mode, as long as you breathe through your nose. This mode deals with digestion, rebuilding/healing of the body, and relaxation. When you ingest cannabis with food, you are activating this parasympathetic nervous system, and as long as you have good blood circulation, you will just keep getting higher, and higher. If your circulation isn't the best, just go for a walk or a jog, and this should help speed things up.

An analogy is walking for 5 miles vs. running. If you walk for 5 miles, you will have less of a chance of feeling worn out, as opposed to running as fast you can. When you walk, your parasympathetic nervous system is dominant, and it uses mostly fat for energy so it can go for a long time before giving up. When you run you use up sugars, and they get used up fast. This is why you feel so drained after running real fast for a short amount of time, as opposed to walking for a long time.

Now, the real secret is making use of both of them. Since we vape, we are able to do this, because we are able to control how much of each effect we want. For example, to get the rush at a beginning of a session, you can make a thick cloud to get your body going, then on the next bowl you load, you use very little, start at a low temperature, and raise the temperature in 10 degree increments until you get to around 420f. You then load another small bowl, and raising the temperature 10 degrees each for each puff. Keep doing this, until you eat a meal with some carbohydrates to replenish your blood sugar. You then start he process all over again, so you can get the rush again, until you are done.

thanks luch...now what about a guy like me who needs to do a few quick sessions throughout the day. I've been doing that for a long time and I have to wait a good while between sessions because these big sessions get me to the wall quicker. Is there another way around it, or does it have to be long, small-puff sessions?
