I'm interested to hear what ratios other people are using and their success or failure rates. I tried to keep track of what was used in each batch until I felt that I had found the perfect ratios, and then I experimented on my friends.
Personally I find the the perfect cookies right now are my ginger snaps. Somehow they are potent enough for experienced users to enjoy a cookie or two, and gentle enough for non users to enjoy the pain relieving factors and a pleasant euphoria without any unsettling effects.
My current method involves using an equal mix of butter made from flowers and butter made from AVB. I make a pretty green butter from 16g of high quality flowers in 1 LB (2 cups or 4 sticks) of butter, which when strained makes 2 containers of about 3/4 cup each. Then I make a butter with fairly well used AVB using about 25 grams of AVB for 1 LB of butter, and again it yields about a cup and a half, which I divide into 2 containers, one for now and one for the fridge.
I use a standard ginger snap recipe, but double it, using 3/4 cup of bud butter and 3/4 cup AVB butter, getting about 60-70 cookies out if each batch. (Plus enough butter in the fridge for another batch later.). I cook a dozen or so, and then throw the rest in the freezer in their little sugar coated ball shapes in a big freezer bag, ready to bake at the drop of a hat. (Which is awesome for when company comes, who doesn't like hot, fresh from the oven cookies?) I find the bud gives you a high and the ABV enhances it with a nice stoney bottom, and the ginger makes them delicious. They kick-in in about 15-20 minutes and last a few hours. Doing the math, there is a ridiculously small amount of product per cookie, but it works, so I've been sticking with it. But I would love to hear what ratios other people are using.
I'm looking to try to make honey next, has anyone here tried to make honey, either in the MB or tradionally? I am finding conflicting information and I'd like to hear from people who have actually made some, and whether it worked or not.
And reading this over, I should start pre-heating the oven...hot cookies sound great on a day like today!
