:rofl:Graduating is something to be proud of, so why not? Just don't get yourself into too much debt if you can avoid it...been there and it's so much nicer paying yourself rather than others.

I just hope that I can give everyone a good idea of what the unit is like, so that there are no disappointments. I'm also going to try and get these guys back on the forum if that's possible. Would be more encouraging to have manufacturer support around here and perhaps they can dig a little deeper than I can.

Glad you got your device and are digging it so far, Tweek. We know we have to work on our site and marketing. We have only been open since Nov. 7th, it's in the works as we speak. We are here to answer questions and want to be a part of this forum as it's a perfect fit for us. Tweek, we have decided to refund your purchase price for stepping out on a limb and sharing your purchase experience with others. We aren't going away and we welcome all feedback and suggestions. We will keep our eyes on this forum every few days and try to answer any and all questions. Happy New Year's to all.

Wow, that was totally unexpected and very generous of you! Thank you so much...that just made my day! I am speechless...and my wife will tell you that I rarely am :D I am also very happy to hear that you will be keeping an eye on the forum...it really does mean alot to us to have a company that is active and cares about its customers

I did have a question about my units missed cycle. Is the oil setting a two hour setting or did I do something wrong? It did not stop at the one hour mark as stated in the manual. The cleaning and mushroom settings both worked through their cycle without issue.

Thanks again and a Happy New Year to you as well!

Magical, would you care to address the shut off thing Tweek mentioned? I believe an hour cycle ran for 2, and had to be manually unplugged. Could just be a rare malfunction, the site sees enough electronics work to know it happens every now and then LOL. Honestly I really like this little device from what I know of it, good for the lazy man or those who just don't have the time to screw with the manual way.

Edit: Not sure if I can delete this now? Tweek beat me to the punch.

@the herb guy- What is happening on Tweeks unit is a glitch in the firmware of the microprocessor. We instantly patched the firmware on all units once we discovered the issue. We opened on November 7th. The firmware issue only affected a handful of units. It never affected the usage of it- it did affect the timer function. I stand behind my product and we will replace the unit because we want your experience to be flawless. All we ask is that you when you receive your new one, give your first one to someone who medically needs it and cannot afford it. There is nothing at all wrong with it other then the timer.

I know some people are confused and think this is a glorified crock pot. It' not, it's a microprocessor controlled program sequence that does everything for you. I put my heart and sole into the development/design of this for two years and am so stoked to have finally launched.

This is a revolutionary invention that we created and it's not perfect but it's pretty damn good. Cheers!!!

Up until tonight I didn't know you were such a new company. Good to hear that there is active work being done. And that was me with the crock-pot comment LOL, but honestly I browsed the site for >5min and couldn't find much more info than 'it's heat is monitored and it does the grinding, with a few options for different duration and temperature suiting the substance'.

If it's that detailed I have to ask, is it 'optimized' in any way for a certain substance. Ex, Olive Oil vs. Coconut Vs. Canola? Butter I suppose is more or less all the same.

If you could wire a USB into the machine you could create 'apps' or schedules for more precise cooking after some experimentation ;). Don't know how realistic that is at this stage, just throwing it out there.

Honestly, you just gained major points from me for that move. I have to hand it to you guys, definitely seem like a classy company, minus those ads.

Anyone want to find me a remote that I can use to fast forward a year so I can buy one of these babies?

Thanks for the detailed answer and generous exchange offer! It is great seeing such support for the community:clap: The unit did indeed do what it advertised both times I've used it, and definitely better than when I attempted my own. I found the heating sequence to be interesting...is there anymore that you can share about how it works? What are the general temps for each setting?

And about the parts that can't get wet....are we talking talking full submersion, or even splash back from rinsing the unit out?

Thanks again!

Thanks Paz we are trying. Our marketing needs some work we know that, but I focused on the product development for two years and the web development for last two months. We have come far fast and I am very pleased with our reception so far. We haven't had one return and we have had an insane amount of positive feedback.

We have been fortunate enough to grab the attention of the big boys. I know HT and quite a few of the other magazines are contemplating reviews on our product. All of them have our product and our feedback from them has been mind-blowing. I have always felt it's better to have your customers and the industry leaders reviewing and describing your product instead of yourself. At least that way potential customers know it's genuine.

A High Times review would do wonders for any product. Good to have another company on here standing behind their products, but I'm +1 on tweek's curiosity on a little more detail on how the device actually works with itself.

@Tweek I really cannot disclose the program sequences in detail due to the pending nature of my patents. I hope you can understand and respect that. Yes it has varying settings and I hate being vague but unfortunately I have to be. A crock pot or double boiler simply cannot do what MagicalButter does. In time I don't think anyone will use the old methods. I hate not being able to just go through it but my patent attorney cost me a small fortune and he advised me to keep my mouth shut about it.

As far as the parts that can't get wet. It's not that they can't get water on them but keep them as dry as possible. Full submersion on the base of the unit or the pitcher handle bad idea, head of the unit probably not a big deal but avoid it if possible. If you clean it immediately after use, it cleans up very easily. At first I designed a dishwasher version of it but it looked terrible, so I redesigned it. I dig the lights and the look of it now. It's humble enough to stay on the counter when mom comes over but kick ass enough to be the talk of a party. I'm an Apple fan and tried to approach the design in a similar cool look and feel to how they would have. Cool to have all the questions thanks guys!

As a medical patient i am really interested in getting one of these. They look so sweet, I got all kinds of ABV laying around cause I never seem to get time to make anything. This looks so convenient, especially since I got kids running around my house 95% of the time. If you make a magical butter 2.0 an adjustable decarb setting and a mechanically sealed lid for increased spill protection and reduced odor would make this thing over the top awesome IMO. I am really impressed by the engineering put into the design, your generosity and involvement with the community so far. Hope ya stick around, it's pretty unique place here at FC but very cool. Love what your doing keep it up man

This is an awesome idea. Magical butter has a good thing going and with a few adjustments this thing will be unbelievable.

@tweek. Thanks for trying this out and giving us the feedback. And that's pretty sweet the company showed their appreciation by refunding you.

No problem, I sort of figured there might be a trade secret in there somewhere. Thanks for the clarification on the water...I have been handling it very gingerly in fear of damaging it.

I actually showed it to some friends who are not aware of what it can do, and they thought it was a cool looking food processor :D In reality, this can be used that way I suppose? The grinder/mixer is pretty powerful, so I could see myself tossing spices and what not inside. Can this unit handle Glycerin as well?

I hope our feedback can help you guys in your development as a new company. This is a great community for that...we may be a bit tough at times, but it's all for the greater good :)

My pleasure... the testing part is fun :D It is indeed a very kind and generous gesture. I notice that they have given back to the community in many ways since launching, and it is very encouraging that they have extended it to the FC community as well. I am looking forward to this thread!

I'm interested in this, but I'd definitely pay extra for a dishwasher safe model… :2c:

This is a multipurpose device using it for flavoring oils and butters is great but it really has a lot of capabilities. Yes it makes tinctures and does an exceptional job at it. People will love it for that. We make tincture based chocolates and they are amazing. That smoothie recipe on our website is ridiculously good.

As far as the dishwasher safe version. It's not a money thing it's actually much cheaper to produce. It's just ugly and boring. In order to make something dishwasher safe you can't have any of the fun stuff this has. So I sacrificed a little convenience for a lot of coolness. The average user will use it once every couple of weeks so spending 5 minutes cleaning it that often isn't a big deal. It does self clean itself about 80%-90% of the way. Still usually needs a little soap and water but not much.

Maybe in the future have a dishwasher safe, or at least more water friendly version as well? I could see people going for it just because it makes it so much easier, and some would rather have functionality over cosmetics.

I agree, I'm not a 'BLING' type person & would prefer a device to have the appearance of scientific or culinary looks. I also believe that the device 'should' have a lock type top to prevent spilling of any kind. Dishwasher safe would be a 'bonus' in my eyes but not a necessity.

I suppose that should the device work as intended/advertised then that's all that 'really' matters in the current price level. IMHO

So far after trying the oil and the mushroom setting, I can say the device works. Everything is ground and cooked nicely in the device, and the final product was stronger than anything I ever tried to make. I still need to try it with butter and Glycerin, but so far so good.

Keep in mind as well, that I used well vaped duff only, and still ended up with a nice strong olive oil, with very little effort on my part. Pretty impressive for a lazy guy like me.

The unit itself is pretty solid with most of it being stainless steel. I would like to know more about how impact resistant the plastic parts are, though. And yes, I agree...a sealed lid would be ideal.

Hmmmmm... does that mean I have to start saving my vape poo again ?? I sure didn't like it with bho/qwiso so just started tossing it out as making butter was always too much like work for me in the past.

I was pretty skeptical about getting anything out of my pile of (vape)poop, but was pleasantly surprised. I mixed the olive oil into a boxed brownie mix and then stirred some of the oil/grindings into the frosting and it tastes great.

Tweek I have been using this design of MB for the past year and used it thousands of test cycles. I have never had a problem with the handle or water damage. If you drop it from 5 feet it's probably going to break but almost every appliance would. It's built to last. It's a kitchen appliance take care not to drop it but you don't have to put on white gloves and treat it like fine China.

As far as sealing the unit. There is a reason for the design. You do not want it to seal completely because you lose evaporation qualities. When you design a unit like this to cook herbs evaporation is a necessity for tasty butters and oils. Crock pots don't do this. It is designed with a two-step-top to force the steam to vent out the top. I have designed the unit to minimize smells but to allow the some steam to escape. Tweek look at the rim of the top you will notice rubber feet. Those feet are there to ensure that the lid isn't on too tight and allows the correct gap for steam to vent. There is a very delicate balance to letting that steam escape and allowing all vapors to escape i.e. a double boiler. If you want a professional taste, let some vapors out it gives it a nutty taste instead of a plant flavor. I know it sounds a little crazy but use a crock pot or DB then use MagicalButter and taste the difference.

I think there is a misconception on here about the top of the unit and splashing spilling. It doesn't splash or make a mess. Should you wash down the counter afterwards of course you just cooked butter/oil. The cooking properties of butter/oil no matter what method you use make it necessary to wipe down a counter. I have never had a mess or even a dime sized amount of liquid on the counter after use. The plastic top is because of the vapors 1. you can watch the steam against the plastic to ensure your device is functioning properly. 2. The vapors don't attach to the plastic, they do attach to stainless steel. If the top were s.s. the vapors would collect and then drip all over your counter.

This unit has been tested to the moon and back and there is a rhyme behind most reasons. There is always room for improvement in anything and that's why I will be active in many forums. I actually never thought I would get this technical with it, but this is the science behind the invention. The voice of my customers will dictate my changes, but there are certain aspects of the appliance that are a necessity for your butter, oils and tinctures to be delicious.

I love this forum great times on here so far. The email it sends you with an update is very cool. I enjoy getting a chance to answer all the questions. I know my intellectual property attorney is going to go crazy, but screw it, you wanted answers and I'm gonna give you as many as I can.
