Do you know what is the smallest amount of alcohol tincture one can make? Thanks! These are great machines, check em out on facebook and you'll see more stories of them helping out those in need.
Great company with a heart, so very rare these days. Sadly.
I own one, and it works great. Trying tinctures next. Butter was awesome.
Thanks for the informative reply! How much herb does 2-1/2 cups translate to? Thanks again!Hi Snappo, I'm looking into it, was told I should use everclear or 200 proof if I was going to use alcohol. Looking into the glycerine type tinctures too.
There are min/max markings inside the chamber, I just filled to the min line and it's 2-1/2 cups or 600ml.
Researching vaporizing and making purchases has taken most of my MB machine research and recipe searching the last couple weeks.
Got it...THANKS!!!@Snappo, two cups (16 oz., or 1 pint).

Probably less after absorption.
Right, Dreamerr!!! But I'm really trying to narrow it down to just alcohol tincture...no butters or oils as I don't tolerate edibles very well. I have had great success with Green Dragon tincture but would like to standardize the process in one easy to use device such as the MagicalButter. Also, since I'm very limited to a rather small quantity of herb at a time, I am constrained to small 1-2 ounce batches rather than pint size as the MagicButter seems to require at minimum. That's why I ask about the smallest quantity that can be made in the MagicalButter. It seems that it may be too big for my limited purpose.@Snappo it depends what you are making. A few pages back I wrote up what I used to make butter and I used a full ounce, some kief and one pound of butter plus one stick well half stick as they come now. That was all for the min line.
...I think I'd start to squirm a bit too much having 16 ounces of 190 proof Everclear being heated up in an enclosed machine...I'm so extra careful even with the water bath on the stove that I'm always a little wound up until it finishes.
I don't get headaches, but I have gotten nauseous, and that turned me off to edibles. But, the tinctures that I made, GD and ABV tinc came out very potent! The effect from vaping doesn't last as long as dosing with an eyedropper, but the effect is right away and powerful! I love the fact that I can vape them in pinky-nail sized cotton swabs in my Solo or Lotus and get baked big time! No burned popcorn cellulose taste, just fresh herbalicious goodness! Then, just throw away the dry spent cotton, no fuss no muss! Sometimes I even make a cotton/herb sandwich for a fuller spectrum effect!Do you get headaches like I do from edibles.
If you mean heated in the vaporizer itself, there is no alcohol being heated or vaped at all, as I first saturate the cotton swatches and then completely evaporate them under a fan. I do that twice for good GD/cotton concentration. Only the oil is left after the evap. But yes, I do heat the alcohol/herb mixture to about 160F in a double-boiler style pan. This is below boiling temp for alcohol, and I do it in a very well ventilated room, so no problem at all.Not a fan of heating high proof alcohol either, or any alcohol for that matter. I shall not be using that technique to make tinctures.

No problem at all...I should have clarified my statement for better understanding. No, not w/MB2, just a 9 inch pan with 1 inch water to heat jar with alcohol/herb mixture until evaporated to desired concentration. EZ/PZ. You can also achieve basically the same tincture with glycerin, the non-alcohol tincture equivalent. Cheers!Vaping and the double boiler or mb2. My memory is horrible + quit drinking 5 years ago, staying away from all forms alcohol if at all possible.
Did not mean to offend if I did. My apologies if so.
Not stating others should not do it, for safety reasons and my alcohol issues it's better for me to stay clear of all alcohol.
