Magical butter ray enough and worth it to try?

Hey guys figured I would ask I did not see another thread but didn’t search much either. I saw a magical
Butter machine at dispensary today and it’s only $175 plus I think 10-20% off. How well do these work? Has anyone tried it? I was going to use it for making coco butter lotion. Do you still have to cook the weed? Does it matter if the weed is grounded up? I got a half ounce or little more of purple urkle that I have been loving, and plus it may not be the greatest idea unless it smells to strong to travel with. I’m going to be heading down south to my summer condo for a good duration of the summer, and their program is to complicated I don’t think I qualify for the program. I was not planning on making edibles but who knows maybe I’ll try them too. How long do the effects last for the lotion?

@Mookie0608 check out the cooking section. A lot of info there. I have the Mag. butter maker. It does a good enough job. You need to decarb the bud in an oven though. The decarb feature hasn’t worked in the past. Not sure if it’s been upgraded with that feature? I run my oil through the process a few times. It doesn’t work well for tinctures is what I hear. I haven’t tried it though.

Some folks swear by the old fashioned way of a crock pot or the stovetop. You need to know what you are doing or you can ruin a lot of bud. The draw back to the mag. butter maker is you need to use quite a bit of weed. Like a whole ounce at least. It’s great for ABV.

Topicals are useful, but for me they are only a supplement and not a replacement for edibles/vapor. Pain-wise, edibles work for me, although I do prefer to augment them with a vaporizer.

Good luck whatever you decide to do. If you leave the flower all summer, make sure you put it in something air-tight in a dark place that isn’t too hot. A boveda pack to manage humidity wouldn’t hurt either.

Some folks have been happy with a Moka Pot which will use less bud. There are different sizes to the Moka Pot. The one that I have only makes a 1/4 cup of oil at a time. You would do a decarb first in the oven. I wasnt happy with the potency but others have been happy with theirs. It would also be found in the cooking section. A lot of useful info. Check it out.

Great. I did not even know they had different machines or what ever u want to call these things available until today. Need something more consistent. I don’t always get the same consistent body high every night.

I have a MB2 machine and don't care for it. Like @CarolKing mentioned it takes a lot of bud. I switched over a year or so ago to using concentrates in my edibles. They are very consistent. I dont know what my mg's are now a days as I'm DIYing my rosin but I can guess in the ballpark.

Dispensary concentrates will have percentages listed on them, so knowing the amount of medicine you're working with is useful. From there, with the concentrates, decarbing is a lot easier, and faster than bud. Plus you can watch the decarboxylation process occur as the oxygen molecules boil off, the oil will bubble. When the oil finishes bubbling, it is ready to go as it is, or infused into some form of fat to mix into a recipe or just eaten by the spoonfull.

You dont need stellar concentrates since you're going to likely lose a lot of the terpenes anyway so a good quality wax or shatter should do fine, or your own QWET washed oil.
