Damn was there an update? Its a bummer but I should have expected it. It's kind of disappointing that it was manufactured in china, but i get why. Im bummed to miss out, but at the same time I feel like I bought it due to fomo and I have perfectly capable devices that I currently enjoy using. So whatever ends up happening it is what it is. Happy for the eu homies that get to enjoy it.

The main thread had a couple updates but nothing definitive. MH is sending a few to the U.S. right now as an experiment to see what happens. More stock arrives to the UK next week. If all goes well, U.S. customers will see shipping notifications shortly after. TBD what additional fee, if any, we'd have to pay.

The U.S. & China are talking today through Sunday about trade. MH website says a newsletter will go out around May 10. It's all very much up in the air, but we should know more soon. I wouldn't despair quite yet. Fingers crossed the U.S. doesn't make things worse this weekend.

I don't feel the need to be in the first pass these days so I let the Ti version slip by, but I certainly intend to get my Tempest2 when it becomes available. I hope by the time the orders are open this tariff shit will have subsided. I don't have a lot of confidence along those lines, but I'm certain to get my Tempest2 eventually. I suspect that @Brenyo ordered significantly more than he will need for the initial excitement.

I'm not super duper informed on how the tarriffs work, but could a workaround be to have mine shipped to someone in the UK and they ship it out to me in the US? Or would tariffs still impact that.

T2 US shipping update

I currently have a few parcels en route to the US with different couriers to test what happens. I’m still waiting for them to arrive, so the newsletter announcement will be delayed by a couple of days to allow me to assess the situation more thoroughly. It's very likely that there is a working solution that I can't announce

I will do EVERYTHING I can to ship your parcels with zero or minimal tariffs as soon as possible. The longer the wait, the more free goodies you can expect with your order.

The second batch of full titanium stock is expected to arrive around May 16. Once it does, I’ll begin packing all US orders so they can ship as soon as a solution is in place or there is a change with the tariffs.

By default, all US orders are on hold, so you don’t need to contact me unless you wish to cancel your order. To cancel, please use the contact form and select "Cancel Order." Note that refunded full titanium Tempests cannot be reserved until the situation is resolved and repurchased.

Not quite — it’s 30% for 90 days, not 0%. This will add $87 to my order, “saving” me $13 vs. the $100 flat fee it was previously. Still lame, but let’s get these things shipped!

Here where the White House set the De Minimis packages to be $25 flat fee starting May 2 - June. Then increase June 1 to $50 flat fee. Posted April 2, 2025.

@jaanky is correct on the current numbers. I found the next update to be, April 9: Link Here where they amended De Minimis from a current $75 to $100 May 2 - June 1 then increase from $150 to $200 on June 1.

I'm guessing there must have been another increase between April 2-9, making the increases from 25,50 to 75,150.

These recent talks haven't seemed to amend the De Minimis?

Chaos is right! I read "pause" in the updated news and got so excited, thinking "pause" = free to trade!

Then I begin to read and realize that there was 3 updates within a week between April 2 - 9 and a month later I still don't understand what the fees are and how to pay them.

I found a nice graph showing the Tariff Costs for China->US packages, above $800.
