MadHeaters Shipping Thread

This is reminds me of the V1 launch where we were all comparing order numbers to work out shipment dates 😊
Thought so—UK orders always go out first. I hope the rest of the EU and the world follow soon.
Here's some mood music for the occasion:
May the Tempest warm your heart the year round. ; )

Just noticed this banner on Madheater's website:

"US shipping is delayed due to unclear tariffs on Chinese-origin goods. A $100 flat fee per parcel applies at customs starting May 2. Order only if you’re willing to wait for lower tariffs or a potential pause. The same applies to pre-orders already placed, or you can request a refund."

Thank you Brenyo for not outright cancelling! I know it makes it much harder for your business, but as an American, I want you to know how much I appreciate the extra work you're putting in to try and help us not get screwed over by the Orange conman! If this works out, then you will have my undying loyalty!!!

The UK website is currently showing the following for me:

"US shipping is delayed due to unclear tariffs on Chinese-origin goods. Order only if you’re willing to wait for lower tariffs or a potential pause. Regarding pre-orders, we will send a newsletter around May 10 with options for our US customers."

Totally agree here. Glad Brenyo is willing to stick it out for us. I mean it's not like they couldn't cancel all of us and have them sold quickly outside of USA. Great to see this as I'm new to MH

@Brenyo I’m not entirely clear on how the tariffs work. Just to clarify, are you saying there’s a flat $100 tariff per parcel? If that’s the case, wouldn’t it be possible for one person or vendor to place a bulk order for all the U.S. buyers, pay the $100 flat tariff, and then split the shipping cost among everyone based on how many orders there are?

There should be a $100 per parcel option for goods valued at or under $800, but MH's shipping service is saying it's 152%. I bet that will be cleared up and it will be $100 (plus a service fee, maybe?) sometime next week.

The $100 flat rate is only for single parcels valued at or under $800. That would be 3x T2s per parcel and make things a logistical nightmare. Any more than that and it's the full 145% tariff.

At least, that's what I think the current situation is. There's a chance we don't pay any tariffs, too!

Yeah I just called my local Republican representative. He said China is gonna pay the tariffs for me so everything’s good to go.

Sorry to tell you but that is not how import tariffs work... that would only be the case if instead these were export tariffs.

Import tariffs (tax on imports) - will be added on Chinese made products as soon as these goods cross the US border and into the US. Your local Republican representative needs to refresh their Econ 101.

So I had something delivered this morning....

Brenyo you were definitely right. It looks even better in person 😉

Is this the first picture of the CU?

I've only had time to clean it, but this thing is stunning. A couple of observations, the cap screw thread feels really nice. Twists on and off with a quick turn

I ran a quick heat cycle with an empty bowl, and it stayed hot for a long time.

I can't wait to test it later
American crying here

*fingers crossed* the tariff backlash hits an all time high and we get another pause.
