Low-melting sugar leaf shatter

Anyone notice their sugar leaf (QWET) shatter melts at a lower temperature? It also gunks up coils more quickly. Anyone know why?

To put it another way, what makes shatter sappier and generally lower quality, given nearly identical prep?
