Arizer V-Tower vs Q Extreme
Since your criteria was for whip only out of those two I'd pick the V Tower.. If you're interested in doing bags as well as whips get the EQ.
I've had both the Arizer EQ and the SSV. I don't think you'd be disappointed with either of those vapes! Both produced by excellent companies, both deliver potent vapour, both are very durable. That being said I preferred the SSV.
It is more customizable; both itself and the glass. Has different heater covers and oil accessories. It allows you to use aromatherapy with the essential oil dish while vaping, which I felt was a great feature. I prefered the flavour/satisfying hits the SSV gives over the EQ. The SSV also doesn't require you to keep your herb in contact with the heater, when not in use your whip/wand can be set on the table; where the EQ it's not as easy to lift the bowl off of the heater so I usually just ended up leaving it and the whip on. The SSV can also be hands free if you want to keep the want attatched; just need the right heater cover and the metal clip they sell.
The EQ won't cook your herb too much unless you draw from it, but I feel it does definitely leech some goodness away if you're wanting to leave it on for on demand use throughout the day. Which I like to, my SSV or UD sit awaiting my use whenever I am at home.
The other thing I liked about the SSV is the internals are very robust but simple to replace; solid wire, nobs, dimmer, ceramic heater.. I used and abused my EQ and eventually the circuit board was damaged; not as easy to repair that. If any part of my SSV goes it should be easy to get a replacement part.
Not to hate on the EQ though. It was my first desktop vaporizer and I loved it; used it almost daily for over 3 years leaving it on all night and over entire weekends. It outlasted several power supplies, car power inverters, cyclone bowls and feet of tubing. I carried it around in my backpack with total disregard for it, droped it more times than I can count, and it kept on kicking. What finally went on it was the display. But even then I got a few more weeks of use out of it before the power button refused to respond at all. I mean this to highlight now amazing the EQ/Arizer products are. I'm pretty sure if I spent some time with my multimeter and a soldering iron I could resurrect it; the heater and fan still worked even after all that abuse. It's truly a tank of a vaporizer and the glass is not that expensive compared to the SSV; perfect for clumsy friends. I'm confident it'd still be running today if I treated it with any sort of respect.
But I got my SSV to replace the EQ and never went back. I prefered the vapour the SSV produces, it looks awesome on my desk, the oil dish makes my house smell good, and I love being able to leave it on all day without it heating my herb. The EQ has the aromatherapy feature as well but you have to use that bowl or the cyclone for vaping, so I didn't end up swapping to it very often cuz lazy..
The only downside to the SSV for me was you can't easily microdose with it with the stock glass.. or I couldn't at least. It seemed to me the minimum amount of herb required for good results is more in the SSV than in the EQ. But that could have been solved by getting a different microdosing mod like the ones
@DDave produces.
These days I find myself drawn to more efficient vapes though. I got an Underdog log vaporizer and man that thing makes good use of my herb.. It's not directly a whip based vape but it'd be easy to get some glass and tubing to turn it into one. I swear I can get 2-5 bowls in it out of the same amount I'd use in my SSV. Can't recommend logs enough; I hear similar accounts from Enano and HI users as well. I feel the same way about the Dynavap Vapcaps, but they don't really match your requirements.
