I would like to just add to Sour Dreams observations, most of the 7th Floor vapes can be had used at rock bottom prices.
All or the log vapes are unregulated though, right? Doesn't that mean they require more technique than the temperature controlled portables?
Log vapes come in a range of temperature controls, from electronics to analogs. For many however its also draw, grind, stem choice, you know the usual. For myself I like a 6" stem with an adjustable screen set a bit shallow with the temp a little higher than most folks seem to like. With that setup I can get a decent hit almost every time, with minimal fuss.

Just to offer something to the community here at this absurd UK hour in a crazy life, as I exhale some tasty Bluedream vapor in fact.

Just a quick shout for the best convection desktops which come to my mind.

Flowerpot, Herborizer Ti I actually honestly feel for flower gives better quality, smoother vapor and slightly heavier effects too, having used the Flowerpot recently 1st time in eons, I was shocked how much it felt clear to me the difference to the Herbo Ti.

Silver Surfer has been mentioned. Officially the “best” vaporizer lol! ;)

Evo is full convection, but not MY top pick at all.

Classic and digital Volcanoes.

Vapbong!

And again, my previously adored Verdamper. King high of every vape I’ve ever tried by a margin I swear, gram for gram and from 1st toke too.

Elev8r.

LSV.

log vapes depending on bowl design and level of conduction. It’s pretty minimal with my Woodscents but I think there must be a little.

Probably Minivap too. Maybe Plenty also?

A good range to choose from. Some of you could probably guess my own recommendation!

@Alexis but w're over 250$ for most of them, and the best...
But they will last at least twice as long
Yes, plus some can really be left running, 24/7/365 and not lose anything over time. Yet be there with permanent power. It’s a logistical thing really, regarding certain portables and batteries etc.

So that’s one particular thing certain desktops offer different to a portable. Socke and reach allowing, raw infinite power.

By far the best value vaporizer is the Elev8r. If you are ok with a loud torch and slight technique for heat up, in every other aspect it is absolutely top tier at an affordable entry point.
I said it recently in the elev8r thread that on paper, it isn't my 'best' vape but it is easily my favourite. Such big clean hits. I also find the torch technique hypnotic and love slowly turning the wand in the flame. I don't need to count, just knowing by colour of the glow of the glass without really being consciously aware I am doing it. Mate with a 14mm j-hook, pinkie in the bend, perfect one hand grip like a big Sherlock pipe with a chimney. Really nice ritual coupled with really nice vapour.
