Looking for a reliable lighter (candle flame)

Hi vaporists, I have recently broken all my cheap plastic lighters, and finally I am looking for something more reliable.
I need a long lasting lighter (piezoelectric with traditional candle flame) that I can use without any special precautions, refillable several times, and the most important thing, it should keep the flame turned on for (at least) 1 minute without any damage.

Look out for the Colibri Connaught II. Has a piezoelectric ignition, big gas tank, easily adjustable flame height, goose nick design, etc.. Great for the vaporgenie and even includes a retractable 'tobacco' aerator/tampering tool. May be a little costly but when registered correctly, you get a good two year warranty and a 50% off coupon for a cigar cutter... (or something to just scare your kids with!)

Thanks for the info guys. Been looking for something to replace my bic for a while now, especially for my VG, but even with my Eclipse. After some research and calls to my local cigar shops...Colibri in the mail, $39.95, Ricks Humidors & Cigars online. Cant wait to get a clean(er) burn on my Eclipse vials. That link to the Lotus convinced me, thanks Daha. The coke/pop bottle test, while not a very controlled methodology, was effective in its point. Im really looking forward to some decently filtered butane with my VG, that is going straight into my lungs! Looking for purity...

Thank you guys, the Colibri seems to be a very good choice.
I know the Zippo is one of the best lighters in the world, but they are not suitable for vaping (fuel vapors, flint dust, etc...).
A good clean flame will provide a good heating source for my VG, and the filter should not become clogged with a Colibri (the can test is great to see how a bad flame can release residues that are bad for the vape cleanliness, and our health).

Just got my Colibri Connaught II in the mail today. Now I can use my glassVG! I refused to use a bic/zippo with horrible fluid in a vape. The Connaught seems (knock on wood) indestructible. Its got 2 year free replacement and you only have to purchase butane in the future. Its even got this little "poker" for your "tobacco pipe" (as it is truely a tobacco pipe/cigar lighter) that is perfect for stiring your meds in your VG. If you have a VG, definately look into a refillable butane lighter. If you own a glassVG, its a must :2c:

PS - the ignition system is pretty sweet. Not "electric" so nothing to "short out". Its a hammer that strikes a quartz stone which never needs replacing (i.e., no quartz matter is ever lost by hitting it with the "hammer"). They have flint Colibri's with easy flint replacements, but why waste the rare flint when no matter is lost from the quartz? Better for my mother earth :)

EDIT: I think the alcohol lamps are sweet, we used to use them in our lab. However, the caps are never secure, and once you tip the alcohol into the flame...:o Fun to see, but not fun to have to use the safety shower in your lab in the winter. I wouldn't trust myself with one at home, especially later into the evening when I may not be as coordinated as usual.

Thanks for letting me know that site, honeslty it doesn't seem a good place were to buy a reliable lighter, but I have found lots of funny gadgets and surely I will make an order.

dealextreme is great, some stuff is nad quality indeed, but if you pay attention to nthe reviews you can get realky good stuff(they have real zippo's for 16 dollar, wich is really cheap here in europe, and they have good torch lighters for 3 dollar, one that I got in june still works good, and I also drop it a lot, a new order with more of them is packaging now because some friends wanted one too)
the pipe lighter they sell there isn't that good tough, bought it also in june for my VG, broke a month or a few months later(first the ignition started becoming unstable, only 1 in 5 clicks a spark, eventually no spark at all so I lit it with a candle, later it started leaking gas at the refill hole so I stopped using it and tried using the torch instead for my VG, wich turned out to be far better as a regular flame)

After a while, I found the Colibri Connaught II on ebay and bought it.
It's just awesome, I think it will be my only lighter to vape with.
Very reliable, a little heavier than I expected, it's one of the best high quality lighters I have ever seen, and it works perfectly with my vaporgenie.
I want to thank you guys for all your replies, and those who suggested this fantastic product.

Ah I'd been wondering where it was that I'd seen this

These pics used to demonstrate the cleanliness of the burning of different lighters were pretty high impact, and so I went and tried to recreate the experiment myself. Not to doubt the experiment in question, but doing my own and with my own selection of lighters I could not replicate the results in the way shown there.

I could indeed make similar varying soot marks on the bottom of the cans, but more due to varying the distance of the flame tip from the bottom of the can, rather than varying the lighter. In my experiment I could still heat the bottom of the can cleanly with the cheap disposable by keeping it out of the flame. And even with the older (classic, but quality) Colibri I had I could make similar black marks to those seen in the link made by the cheaper lighters, simply by lowering the can further into the flame. Same result with the Colibri/Firebird (cheap Colibri) that I currently use.

So on that basis I am yet to be convinced that that is an effective demonstration that the premium lighters are indeed cleaner burning than the cheaper ones. Has anybody else tried it?

There's certainly a difference in build quality and reliability of ignition in the better quality lighters, which has nearly got me convinced to shell out for a new one to use with my VG, but not quite. Although it would be nice to own one for sure, I don't use the VG all that often- at least not really enough to justify $40 for luxury reasons. But I'm willing to if anyone can point me to evidence that they are in fact cleaner burning than a $10 lighter?

Since I use only the VG, I need a lighter everytime, but I can say (for experience) that those cheap pieces are not reliable, I ever need a bunch of them. They discharge fast, and sometimes the plastic melts.
I've started to refill these lighters to save some money, but when I realized how much I spent for that crap, I decided that a 40$ for a new reliable is worth.

That experiment is very interesting, as soon as possible I will try it with my Colibri compared to a cheap lighter.
However I think that the gas quality is another factor to consider, crappy gas in a quality lighter could not give a good result, like if we fill an expensive and fast car with unrefined fuel.
Anyway, when you use the VG, the flame shouldn't touch the ceramic filter, so the soot produced by the flame si relatively important.

I have a small bernzomatic torch that I have used with the cheap butane from the same brand for a couple of years now and still going strong. It has a locking mechanism so you can keep it on for 30seconds+, an adjustable flame, and can switch between a regular lighter/candle flame and a torch.
