Loner vs social

Question 1:

I am definitely a lone vaper. In the old days, it was usually fun smoking with others. As I've evolved into a medical user (no med. card; condition not covered), I find myself preferring to be solo.

Question 2:

I'm in a very newly legal state. So not much has changed for me. The same handful of people know that I partake. It is a bit liberating though. Knowing I'm no longer an outlaw.

Question 1, I vape alone. I tend to forget my limit when I'm vaping socially.

Question 2, I have only noticed a difference in my medical world. I can talk to my doctor's and they work with me and my cannabis use to help with my symptoms. It's a great thing when you can be open to a pain clinic doc about cannabis use to control pain. Ya know?
Other than that people still look at you weird. Coming out of a dispensary people look at you like it's a dirty video store you just came out of. But I usually am not dressed like a slob, I have a nice car, and I was in sales so I know how to engage people face to face. So when I target them and say hi or start some small talk their reaction is priceless because you can see their uncomfortableness stopping them from thinking. They can't talk half the time they just stumble over their words.

If only they knew, it could help them relax too! :leaf:

There are enough self-imposed restrictions to make me a lone vapor. Would love for my wife to join but that ain't happening. Neighbors, meh. I'm an old fart perfectly happy with his own company. Besides, you good people are my social vapor friends and frenemies! What else could I want? I don't travel high [sole driver] and social pressures would just get me in trouble. I've spent a lifetime making my bed. I'm gonna freakin' enjoy it as much as I can before giving it all up to the big sleep.

Legalization in my state was what got me going again on weed only to learn it solves or manages chronic conditions. Vaping only reared its head in the last 6 months. I had no intentions to pick up cannabis on a regular basis before I realized my 40 years of living in pain had vanished. It was a lot of work zeroing in on the right strain. Pain has become fairly easy to manage. The process required a lot of subjective testing for other ailments like debilitating cramps. This moment in history is something we boomers share with our grandparent with regard to prohibition.

:myday: <<== proud to be a Boomer! Watch us grunt! :D

Began as a social smoker, then slowly creeped towards lone, but I had a good buddy I did most with (along with some others, which was typically preferable to alone) who also got me into vaping which made doing it alone even more prominent honestly... Then in some relationships it was very social vaping, yet similar to lone style so very fun while it lasted!

Now living legal in Cali, I am definitely free to be more open about it. Even at work I don't feel as weird saying I am way more into weed than alcohol (I actually don't even really drink at all anymore, and hardly ever did) and I also don't do coffee or tea soooo it is nice to be able to be honest about my main vice! Even if I am not necessarily always so honest about the amount and frequency I consume said vice :D:ko:

Like others, I began as a social smoker. As I transitioned into vaping, I remained primarily social. My partner at the time would vape with me, though. My current partner only likes to do it occasionally and alone, so that leaves me puffin alone unless I visit one friends house, who also happens to sell it.
So I'm a loner
Where I live it's still illegal. There is a medical program but it's a cruel joke. Hopefully legalization is handled better

+1, same here.

Being in a legal state makes it easy to buy, although I wish it could be just mailed to me, like in Canada.

In my carefree past life I was a 50% loan smoker/ 50% social smoker.

Nowadays I’m 98% loan vaper/ 2% old friend from past life stops by and I feel the need to enlighten them about my loaner dry herb vaporizer adventures.

Being a father of 3 makes it hard to find time to sit around with friends getting stoned. It’d be death by wife for me. Instead my time is spent what I would call medicating, preforming ritualistic therapy, and finding clarity when my anxiety is going crazy. I only really medicate at home by myself and I feel if I was medicating socially I would not reap the benefits of loan vaping.

Earthling flora is... fascinating.
Started social; got smoked out a lot by friends, associates, hippies I had just met at parties, and the occasional professor at my super hippie school. Now I guess I'm sort of half and half. I mostly toke alone, but only because my friends are all in different phases of their lives now. If we were all as free as we were in undergrad, I'd definitely be more social than I am.

Now I mostly microdose throughout the day for health reasons. Similar to how I pop a gummi vitamin absentmindedly between meals.

I usually vape solo every evening as I unwind alone in my basement.

On the weekend I usually vape with the girlfriend. So I would say I’m social and loaner.

I live in Canada, but generally speaking keep most of my life private including vaping unless you a neighbour or a close friend that I consume with.

Not trying to be that guy but it causes actual pain in my head when I read loaner (not correct) vs loner (correct)

I go both ways, I tend to prefer going solo if for no other reason then it ALWAYS seems to wind up me being the material supplier and that people who like/can consume as much as I do are few and far between in my experience.

Being a stones throw from Lake Tahoe and Calis (State of Jefferson at least) very long standing pretty much pseudo legalization aka no one really ever batted an eye unless you were being ridiculous like whipping out a bong on the main tourist strip or on the beach away from trees, has made Nevada legalization not really seem like that big of a deal aside from seeing old folks acting like teenagers doing something bad from time to time. And I see more then a few people driving and vaping (I can smell its not nic) which is NEVER a good thing. Its certainly raised the black market costs of flower and oil though.

1. It depends on needs and wants. Late at night when I can't get to sleep, loner. (Unless my sleeping wife counts.) On the weekend for fun? I'd say social but it really only is with one other person (the same one) most times so I'll go with locial.

2. I ask the question here the last couple of years about how many have gone to a party not focused on cannabis where the participants openly used? Generally, there are none who write. Cannabis has a LONG way to go before it is socially acceptable through all strata of society. Nothing has changed from a public disclosure position. Even though it's legal, you still don't use openly. (It's not because public use is still illegal [kinda, depending on what you mean], but because it is still socially frowned upon.)

Oh definitely depends where you are, in Los Angeles there is always smoking or vaping somewhere at almost every party and even at concert venues inside! Even work functions

1. I consume with or without others. When I want to toke I do it. My wife partakes so i always seem to have someone to pass too.

2. I've only been in a legal state less then a month. Glad the law changed! It is really nice not having to worry about being a criminal.

I'm definitely a loner, primarily because I don't have any local friends, having lived in CO for a bit over three years. I'd love to find some smoking buddies but it is what it is. I'm pretty much an old hippie anyway (58) and prefer staying home to be honest, where all of my use takes place. My wife supports my cannabis use but does not like to use it at all (her first experience was an OD on edibles and since then she won't go near it).

I do love being in the fully-legal state of Colorado. Dispensaries abound and the variety of products you can purchase is astounding. It's fantastic to me that I am able to go to the local dispensary, pick up some concentrates, a couple of varieties of flower, beverages, etc., and then come back to the house on a summer afternoon, hang out on the back patio, enjoy some tunes, and enjoy my melt.

Four years ago, I lived in the oppressive state of Kansas-stan where my illegal drug use (and growing) would get me locked up for who knows how long, a criminal record, out of a job, etc. Escaping the state of Kansas was the best thing I've ever done.

I mostly vape solo, as I have very few friends that are into cannabis.
Sometimes when I go to the pub with friends, I vape with friends. Rarely am I at a friends house that is cannabis friendly (I live in a shitty non-friendly state, so I have to be careful until I can escape this disgusting state).

Question 1:

Are you a lonevaper or a socialvaper?

Or somewhere in between? :hmm:

Question 2:

For those of you who live in legalized countries/states, what is it like, to be able to be more free and open about cannabis consumption/use? :peace:

1, loner.

2, if not for it being legal here the wife would never let me use cannabis in our apartment, and I use for mainly medical reasons, though I can't lie, I love a good buzz with couch lock before bed.

1. loner mostly, but at public venues like clubs, concerts, museums, movies

2. it's legal here (wa.), but not outdoors. the game-changer (IMHO) is battery-powered vaping devices; without the flames, smoke and smell, people have to be really close (and knowledgeable) to know you're vaping weed, not nicotine. as long as I'm reasonably aware of my surroundings (don't vape in front of cops), I can vape in public.

I recently got a linx hypnos wax pen, which raises the possibility of stealth vaping, but haven't come up with a good reason to (for example) vape on the sly inside a club (people definitely do it - I can smell it) when I can just go outside to vape instead of risking getting 'busted'.
