Load me a stem and brew me a fresh cup of tea

I've recently gotten into drinking tea, and I enjoy many aspects of the ritual. I like that there are potentially numerous health benefits of drinking tea. I like how drinking tea relaxes me. I enjoy the caffeine buzz as well. I don't drink coffee and I never have, and I think tea is a viable substitute.

The preparation of tea and its natural qualities remind me a lot of vaping too: many different types of tea (similar to strains), tea relaxes me as does mj, tea is not artificial (I think), there is some critical preparation involved (critical in that the way one brews their tea may affect the resulting cup of tea, just as how one grinds and/or dries their herb matters), etc.

So, how many cups of tea do you drink daily? What kinds of tea do you prefer and for what reasons? Do you drink tea while vaping (or maybe even brew some form of a tea-mj concoction)? Why do you drink tea?

I typically drink at least one or two cups a day. So far, I've only been drinking green tea, but I plan on expanding my collection. I don't typically combine vaping and tea drinking but I do plan to start.

Deadhead101,
I'm a huge tea drinker as well, mostly black Indian teas.

Yerba Mate has replaced it largely as my go-to caffeinated beverage - I prefer it for a number of reasons and now regularly buy an IPA which features it as the main bittering agent.

When I feel myself just beginning to get sick, I'll drink completely comical amounts of tea and yerba mate, and that will actually knock the virus or infection out within a day or two. It's worked many many times of the past few years for me so I don't think it's a fluke.

Englishman here. I was weaned on the stuff off my mothers teat. Still drink 5+ cups a day. Can't stand that green crap (shouldn't even be called tea IMO- an unfinished product) or many of the fancy varieties. Or that cold black tea you drink in the USA- that stuff is foul. Strong black English tea with milk- brewed strong with a nice deep colour almost approaching a rusty red when the milk is added. Occasionally I will enjoy an Earl Grey as well. In a mug, rather than a cup (I'm not one for formal tea). I used to have 2 sugars, but years ago during my time as a cash strapped student unable to afford sugar (rather unwilling- I spent the money on bud instead) I acquired my taste for unsweetened tea. Can't really say why I drink tea- it's really like saying why do I eat! It's essential to life!

last time I had tea was probably at my grandmothers house, she didn't have any coffee
I think tea tastes to weak, tastes just like hot water, I also drnk my coffee black as soon as there's milk in it I also think it tastes just like hot water(when I began drinking coffee my mother tried to convince me to drinking it with milk because it would be better for my stomach according to her, but I just don't like it with milk, or I have to add a giant load of sugar to get at least some taste but then I could just as well drink sugarwater, so only black coffee is coffee for me
anyway, as I said my grandmother didn't have any coffee, so she said I could just let the tea sit longer
well I did that, I let it sit so long that most other would probably find it too strong, but it was still too weak
then I took out the teabag and tried just sucking directly on the teabag, that had some taste but still too weak

so I'll just keep it at coffee
only sometimes if I'm sick, the kind of sick you can only eat a little dry bread, crackers or a little soup, I don't want too much taste so then I like sweetwoodtea (don't know of sweetwood is the english name but it's the litteral translation, it's those twigs you can chew on that have a delicious sweet taste, it's also an ingredient for licorice

I love tea. It is great, nothing pleases me more than going through a huge vat of pre-made iced green tea on a hot summer day. I drink a lot of green tea, but also love yerba mate. Coffee makes me feel sick, I too drink comical amounts of tea when I feel sick, and regularly, and I think it really helps me out in the long run. I also take rosemary, ginseng, and gutu kola tinctures usually twice a day, or before I want to increase my mental abilities. Rosemary increases blood flow to the brain and helps fight free radicals, ginseng is an adaptogen, meaning it helps the body adapt to stress, and it also helps one gain mental stamina. Im not too sure about the biological workings of gutu kola, and im sure herbgirl can help out here, although it may be unknown...but theres a chinese guy who was supposed to have lived several hundred years who swore by several key herbs, one of which is gutu kola. I know Indonesians use a tea made from it to help perk up in the afternoon, and some use it to fight opiate addiction. Just a little insight into my herbal routines, it's kind of a new hobby for me, and I definitely feel the benefits. The only problem is tinctures are so darn expensive, I paid like 17 bucks for one small bottle of ginseng tincture recently.

These "stimulants" don't do anything too noticeable, but over time, im sure they are making me healthier. I have thought about trying stronger herbal stimulants as im pretty sure i can get coca tea on amazon, with the alkaloids in it...but I don't see a point, and don't want to risk addiction.

Thanks for reading, I know I wen't a little off topic, Ill probably start an herbal tincture thread soon

WatTyler, what do you mean by "unfinished product" referring to green tea? It tastes pretty good to me.

lol, guess I should have added 'in my strong opinion' It's all the same plant, but the leaves used to make green tea have not been allowed to wilt and oxidise (ferment) in drying. In my tea nazi opinion this is an essential part of producing my idea of good tea- breaking down the chlorophyll and producing tanins. Kind of similar almost to the way a cure 'improves' (changes) bud flavours. White, yellow or green tea just doesn't hit my spot- it's like fragranced hot water. Oolong is getting there (a little bit oxidised). But 'normal' black tea FTW! Satisfying and flavourful. Like perfectly cured bud!

But best wishes to all those that do enjoy their green teas.

I've never tried the puerh fermented tea which is actually green, but goes beyond where black tea takes it and can be aged for 30 years! I would like to. It looks like commercial imported bush weed- check out the 'brick' http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pu-erh#Shape

There is nothing like a mug of Earl Grey to accompany some herb, however green tea is amazing for the body and I wouldn't completely disregard it.

I also like various types of tea.

I drink 3-4 cups of green tea daily. Sometimes I'll drink white tea or black tea like Earl grey or Assam instead of green.

I also like black teas, chai, green tea, white tea, and I know they're not "teas" but I like rooibos and other herbal teas. I also like Yerba mate.

I don't vape that much and I don't smoke anything anymore but when I was into smoking in the summer I enjoyed drinking vanilla rooibos over ice and drinking blueberry iced tea as well.
