Lighters!

Nice, Frickr. I ended up simply purchasing one of the Lotus lighters that VG sells. I swung by a smoke shop in the city and the VG price is extremely competitive. Was on the fence between torch versus traditional flame lighter and I opted for the natural flame.

Well, too damn bad I didn't buy a VG... I have one of those tiny butane torch things I bought to use in my attempts to make an e-cig mod...

I don't even own a lighter now for the first time in over 25 years tho ;)

I highly recommend the cheap red and white adjustable flame re-fillable torch lighter (made for barbecuing probably) that I got at the 99cent store! It produces about a 1" flame when maxed out. It might have to be refilled fairly often but then most probably do have to be. The nice thing is, it's long (about 12") so you will not feel any heat in your fingers as I did when I used a small lighter.

Hi there, I'm looking for a good butane refillable lighter, I'm looking for a quality (resistant) one.

I don't care about look, just looking for a lighter that will be still working after months of use.

Any suggestion?

Not sure exactly what ur lookin for but this one looks cool http://www.uxcell.com/blue-windproof-cigarette-refillable-butane-lighter-with-light-p-23722.html

I'm pretty sure most torch lighters are refillable too, but if I was you, I'd probably just run down to 7-11 and grab a pack of bics. Cuz those cans of butane probably cost more than the pack of bics. Just my :2c:
Thank you for your suggestion, I tend to agree, the bics may be cheaper than a fashion refillable lighter. I'll go with that :)

Reliable, cheap. Pick one.

Stuff from dealextreme falls under the latter. Not necessarily a bad thing, but if reliable is what you're after expect to shell out more than $10-15. Reliable to me means years of use, and when it comes to butane torch lighters the most highly regarded brand among people who use them every day is Blazer.

These two in particular.

http://www.blazerproducts.com/tools/pb207.html

I've owned a lot of lighters and where others feel like toys, these are high quality tools. You can find them on ebay or google.

Also, a torch lighter should only be filled with high quality refined butane such as Vector, Colibri or Blazer. Some say that Vector is so potent that it can degrade the inner seals of the lighter but I've yet to see any evidence to back this up. More: http://www.keen-newport.com/ourBenchmark.htm

Has anyone tried the LOTUS that they sell over on the VG site?
Own the Lotus from the VG site works great! I definitely recommend it even though its a bit pricey...

When I used to combust I would just use Bics, refillable butane lighters (not the coloured flame type), Cricket lighters, and cheapo knock off cricket lighters from a dollar store.

My VG is my resident studio vaporizer, and I'm realizing that I really need to find a good, solid, reliable lighter for it. I've never used a BIC on my VG but I've been using these crappy "Elite Electronic" lighters, the basically run out of juice after about half a dozen sessions on the VG or less. I'm thinking that I could really use a decent refillable piece, one that does not use flint. Has anyone tried the LOTUS that they sell over on the VG site?

Oh, and if you're using an electric lighter, are you rocking a torch or flame lighter?
I have a Lotus model 25 lighter. It has torch and candle flame. It is a great lighter. It could benefit from a larger butane tank but is so far otherwise perfect.

VapoBreizh,
I'm sorry to any mod that sees this as the wrong place to make a post for an item like this, but nothing seemed like a perfect place. I just wanted to point out the model jet lighter I've had for about 8 months which has been operating flawlessly, found here http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.1320 for 2.78 with free shipping. Free 2 to 4 week shipping on the slowest boat in all of China but nontheless.

I was just using it with my glass vapobowl realizing that it has been a silent, stalward and steady lighter, and cost a pittance. My only complaint is the lack of an adjustable flame, as it can a little larger than I would prefer for some smoking/vaping applications. It comes with a little plastic footy thing which should be made illegal it's so shaky, you'd have to be a madman to trust a flaming jet lighter sitting in that thing, so just throw it out.

Pick it up.

And it's only 11.50ish for a flamethrower!: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.6824

lol too funny! i have a zippo blu but i don't like it :(

it blows out all the time and the thumb pad gets so fuckin hot i can't bare to hold it for extended periods of time. sounds like i have a lemon maybe?

I bought a HMK swing, and and thinking a bigger torch will be better for the job?

got my eye on the gb2001 so far.

i've heard from a few people actually that their zippo blu is not very reliable, mine however has been holding up fine, lights just about every time on the first try, but it does tend to go out if i invert it for longer than a few seconds. as for a torch, my friends all swear by this creme broule torch they got at Bed Bath and Beyond.

lemme know how that HMK curve treats ya, i just ordered a simple errlock setup consisting of a 14mm J shaped sherlock arm in combination with a dome to hold me over until i can save for a more legitimate rig.

Bernzomatic Micro torch(comes with soldering attachment) I used one for probably 2 full years before it died on me(rather the button stopped engaging) and you know what? I went right back to where I bought that first one and got the same.exact.torch. Very very reliable, others who use the Supreme or heat Ti pads or nails prefer this as well.

i mean the black one with the red button btw

tis a nail, so im thinking the zippo blu will suffice against the smaller surface area for the immediate time being, and NYCD i will def look into that bernzomatic torch

I have always gone Bic. Cheap, always reliable and available everywhere, but I must say that the Vector Pipe lighters are brilliant. I like the idea of having cleaning utensils on hand at all times and conveniently in my lighter is best possible case.

I have always relied and used the Prince PB207 micro torch which are almost lighters for life:
http://www.google.fr/search?hl=fr&q...source=og&sa=N&tab=wi&ei=ZQzhTvKGLMmUOoKbpP4J
But I received a skillet and though the micro torch works perfect with the lock system and its stand, it is a little long to heat correctly the skillet as the flame is a little "thin"...
Xmas approaching and my desire to upgrade my beloved Prince increased,so after a lot of research I found MI AMOR:

Got it for 30 and BOY I UPGRADED!

Dremel is one of the best micro-tooling/mechanics company in the world and the quality of the whole thing for that price is just unbelievable! The sound of the flame is from another world! :o NICE JOB DREMEL!

For basic pocket lighters...there is no better than the Clipper lighter. Not easy to come by in the US...but they can be found...ebay is your friend if not. They are refillable and reflintable (if you get the flint version). The have a removeable stem that is where the flint goes that makes a really great poker/stirring tool. The base is round and just the right size to snuff out a pipe. They are more durrable than a bic. They have tons of great graphic designs on them. They have a website here. I like the CP11R model...which is the standard classic flint lighter.
