So as the title states after a lot of reading and research it's down to the LSV and the Vapor Brothers. I have never owned a desktop plugin vape before, but am not new to vaping I've used a couple desktop units and own and have used a ton of portables my MFLB being my favorite at the moment.

So I understand the two units are fundamentally different as the LSV is direct draw in base config and the VB is a whip style vape and there seems to be a lot of conflicting info, as some think it is an outdated unit that is only still around because of name recognition while others love it and use it as there DD. I will be using either dry and through a water pipe. They both end up being about the same price after adding the needed accessories and extras so cost isn't really a deciding factor. So looking for some input from members that have used or owned both units to help me make up my mind I am leaning towards the LSV.

So discus away what should I know before purchasing either?

P.S. Before someone recommends a log vape I do plan on adding an e-nano to my collection but looks like units won't be leaving until the end of Jan and I need a desktop unit before that. Besides nothing wrong with building the collection :science: / having more than one unit for the rotation.

I've owned a LSV and my friend has a Vapor Bros. If you want lung-busting hits that can milk a bong, go with the LSV. However if your vaping style is more casual and you prefer to sit back, the VB is the better choice IMO.

They are both quality units and since they're so different functionally, I honestly can't recommend one over the other without knowing your preferences. Personally I moved away from the LSV and am now using my homemade vape, which is basically a LSV/e-nano combo. I found that something that can support its own weight on a bong (and remain there) is just easier to use overall.

Honestly... Get the LSV. It's great for water and dry hits. Easy to kick back and relax sipping on the LSV wand. Or you can get down to business with the wpa and get hit repeatedly in the head with a two by four as @lwien puts it.

Things to consider:

1 -- if you get the LSV you will be using all glass all the time, so taste will be better if you don't like the taste of the silicone tubing in your air path. But you need to have a solution to setting it down, and the cord and shape of the unit can make this awkward sometimes. I hung mine on the wall from a screw (do this cord down or the unit could overheat).
2 -- If you want it sitting out in the open all day and ready to hit, the box vape will be an easier solution on the desk or table. And the VB is smaller than I think every time I pick it up.
3 -- I found the LSV transfer want to deliver harsh hits dry. But this is a personal sensitivity issue, as many others do not share this view. I like the longer path of the tubing for cooling it down more.
4 -- if you go with the box vape instead of the LSV, why not a da buddha or silver surfer? They are slightly superior vapes. I can't tell you why, but I can tell you VB respects the 7th Floor products and what they have done with the technology.

Since you are going to use it for both water and dry hits, I think it comes down to the air path you want and the setup as it sits out on the table. How do you want it to look and are you into all glass air paths?

So I ended up pulling the trigger on the LSV it seems to be the better fit for me at the moment. @stickstones I'm not sure about the all glass air path since I don't believe I've ever used a vape with one, I'll report back how I like it when it shows up. As for harshness I'm not too worried about that I've got iron lungs and am not easily irritated by vapor and this thing is more than likely going to be used though a bong or a bubbler quite a bit anyway since that was always my preferred method of combustion as well. All there is to do now is to rig up a stand or something to hang it from and wait for some vape mail.

I've been keeping an eye on this thread because your situation is similar to my own. I currently use a firefly as my main vape. It's fantastic for my needs, I can even milk my bubbler with it. But I can't help but think I'm missing something by not having a nicer desktop. The lsv was my top choice. I would greatly appreciate a update when you get a chance. Mainly is it that much of an upgrade? And if so, in what ways? Or would I just be satisfying my vas.

@slick I got my tracking number today shipped via ups  but locally there pretty good... (I mean I live less than 100 miles from vapornations warehouse they can't mess it up that bad can they *knock on wood:wave:) if it actually gets on a truck tonight ill have it Monday. I will absolutely keep this thread updated for a week or two with my thoughts on the device, I happen to have a good bit of time on my hands at the moment so you guys might even get a video or two. That being said unless you swap firefly for MLFB :rofl:for a bit (I've never used the firefly) I will happily report my findings and let you know whether or not I thought it was a good buy, worth the money and an improvement over the portables I have used in the past.

@CrimsonKing -- solid choice. nothing but respect for the LSV form me...check my sig.

@stickstones Yeah I know it says I registered a couple of days ago but I've been coming here for answers and lurking forever your sig was part of what made me pull the trigger and go LSV over the Vapor Brothers Unit. Respect:tup:

@slick I've only had it a day and a half but already I can tell you this thing was made for glass. I was not super impressed day one using the transfer wand but I got my 20° M to F fitting so I can use my WPA attachment since my bong is stemless it doesn't work without it. Using it on my pipe its awesome nice milky hits almost instantly and gets me where I need to be, so if you are looking for something to use through water I don't think you will be disappointed.
