I've had the Kia for a few days now and feel I can give a proper review. It is my first whip-style hands-free type vape, so I can't compare it to the DBV or EQ, but it works great with only a small learning curve.
The wand for the Kia is "screenless" but I've had good success using the little screen that shipped with it. It does move around, but is not a big deal to get it secure. I'm considering picking up some glass screens. I think the daisy style would work well. An optimal fill level is approx 2/3 of an mflb trech. I can only guess at the weight, but the amount is about 1/2 a skinny joints worth and conservation-wise I'd say the Kia and mflb are roughly equal- all light years ahead of combustion as far as effect/amount.
I've accidentally combusted twice, both because of overfilling the wand. I've found that the halfway full point is optimal for conservation/vaporization. The temp control is sensitive and responsive. A slight turn causes the heating element to visibly brighten or cool which allows for a very fine control. I'm still experimenting with this, but my method is to slowly work up to higher temps until the herb is completely spent ( I toss my abv) and also to remove the wand between hits.
The heat-up time is less than 3 minutes and the cool-down time is suprisingly fast. I can have it secured and closed approx. 2 minutes after powering off. Also, the unit does not get dangerously hot during use. After around 45 minutes of on-time, the top of the unit, while hot, can be touched without blisters and swears.
I tried it in my car and it worked quite well, though it would be hard to explain to a curious popo. It certainly isn't as stealthy as an mflb or Incognito, but the fast heatup makes it viable in a car situation. I've paired it with my ssfg travel tube and that was also a success.
All in all, the Kia is a great vape. The functionality of everything closing up in a locked case speaks for itself and performance-wise it meets or exceeds all of my expectations. There isn't much love for it here on FC, but me and ol' Facetat like it fine.
