Keep quartz enail banger clean

Hey Y'all,

Just got my first enail today! It's a Dabbing Specialist Custom Enail controller. So exciting, but not sure about lots of things. I got a cheap imported quartz banger for it. It's a 20mm coil that's open on the end. I can't get it clean after a dab. Using iso and q-tip like I have with torch bangers. The bottom doesn't seem to get hot enough. I've used the factory setting of 800F and that's too hot of a dab for me. I tried it at lower temps into the 500F and still doesn't clean up. I am using pretty clean homemade ethanol extracts and also like to dab rosin.

Is it the cheap quartz?

Is it what I am dabbing?

What do you all do to clean your quartz enails?

Put some water,best destilled cause some places in the world water is hard and leaves white rings just like when you use mineral water . Spring water should be a forgiving solution.
Put the water when it is cold and either torch it or fire up the coil , cause quartz is pretty durable but it might be best to avoid thermal shock . If you need to use any type of cleaner between hits the temperature is too high. With a torched dab the nail cools down which allows one to take pretty hot hits without crusting up the nail. With the enail supplying a constant supply of heat you need to adjust the way you dab slightly.

A more modern axial coil (they cover the bottom of the nail as well as the sides) and a larger diameter banger will get you superior results that allow for lower temperature vaporization.

It's hard to recommend a temperature as it depends on a bunch of things, but you just gotta take a few dabs and adjust the temperature until you can take a dab and wipe it clean before anything starts crusting on.

I use glob mops after every dab and soak in simple green crystal on a candle warmer overnight every few days

Once you dial in a good temp range, your material will dictate this more then anything else and even among types of dabs like live resin, rosin, distillates, shatter, diamonds etc etc, there will be variation of how cleanly it vapes even with "perfectly clean" materials. I find live resins and distillates will clean up the easiest and some rosins being the hardest to clean, and again even with "clean" material, sometimes it'll look pretty rough. Also opaque bottoms will get dirtier and get dirtier faster then a clear bottom, but for the most part opaque will outperform clear bottom.

Yeah I've used the showerhead extensively, it's a great vape.

I only use dry q tips, but I dab off sapphire inserts so water would damage that.

Dipping your q tip in distilled water works really well for minor cleanup of Quartz.

I use @ensabbahnur baking soda + distilled water paste/scrub to deep clean my quartz.

Thanks y'all for the feedback. I've been setting the temp at 420F and the flavor is amazing! Cleans up nice with a dry q-tip. So nice not using iso! Peace
