Are you still having this issue? Can you take a picture of the gasket for me please? It might be that you have an early version that somehow got through the system?
And I agree with you completely, you shouldn't have to wash and dry overnight or anything of the sort. Those gaskets are silicone they really shouldn't have any odor to them at all. They are very pure and clean so I'm confused as to the source of the odor.

Thanks, Aldo.
It was primarily because of all of the great love there is for you here on this forum that I even considered your product (props to the FC community), and I haven't seen anything but a great attitude from you so far. So, thanks.
I will take a pic and upload later tonight, but for now...
Just to help you know which ones I have, these gaskets are slightly
oranger than a hotdog in color, and about 3.2mm thick.
(NOTE: in this context, I am only referring to the big ones......I can smell the smaller, thicker, cream-colored ones too, and I'd rather they didn't have any odor whatsoever, but these bigger ones are just nasty)
I followed most of the suggestions posted earlier RE: cleaning. After cleaning, they all sat out for over a full day with ceiling fan going to help air-out. After the cleaning and drying, the odor was definitely, significantly diminished. In fact, one of them almost seemed to lose it completely; though the other one (which had more pungent odor than the other previously as well) still had quite a bit of the odor.
Then, I sat them on my desk for about a month to just continue to air out...
Then, in my desperation, I cut the bulk of the center circle of one of them out so that there is just enough of a ring of gasket for the glass to rest against and about a couple mm on each side. This way, I maintain the seal (and the integrity of the gasket), but cut way down on the amount of the material that's producing the odor.
Then, I screwed the caps on both of the ones I have (one with full gasket, and one with the modified, minimalist version), and set them on my desk to wait a week to find out how much odor collects in there with nothing but air on the inside.
Besides uploading the photo later tonight, I will also come back in here after I open them up to post a report on the status after one week...
Aldo,
I can't upload the photo cause I don't have a website, and the forum software doesn't allow local image uploads.
Then, I tried going to your website to see if I could find an email address, but then the site isn't coming up.
