I have had a number of situations where gg glass components have stuck together and been difficult or inconvenient to separate. I have thought about using some kind of joint grease, but have read of situations where that made sticking worse. Do a lot of folk use grease or wax on their joints? Is there a recommended product?
Slide Right is made exactly for this purpose.
Slide Right™ is a 100% all natural custom wax blend used to protect scientific slides and other glass joints. It is available in a single tube, Net Wt. 0.15oz (4.3g).
Ballistic creations also makes Joint Wax.
Joint Wax™ is a 100% all natural custom wax blend used to protect scientific and other glass joints. It is available in a single tube, Net Wt. 0.15oz (4.3g). Joint Wax™ Prevents Glass Grinding & Frozen Joints. It doesn’t slip; it grips and holds to secure your glass joints.
The difference is that Joint Wax is meant to hold things together, it has a thicker viscosity, while Slide Right makes release predictable. For firmer hold you can heat Joint Wax, put glass together, then let it cool for a "no clip" hold.
