Well, he is a national treasure after all, that image would not be my first choice, something like this maybe...

How many black men could stand up on stage in 1968 say 'I'd like to dedicate this one to the American Indian' then go on to tear apart the national anthem, complete with napalm bombs, screams & explosions during the time Vietnam was kicking off...controversial & huge cajones doesn't begin to cover it.

Rage against the machine did the American Indian thing in the 90s, it was still controversial then & they were white and some 30 years after jimi.

I was sooooooo fortunate to see him play his last concert here at the Forum in LA.

I shed a few tears when he died when thinking about how we'll never hear or know where he could have taken us.

And talk about shedding a tear, THAT performance of the National Anthem at woodstock was so fucking painfully raw, that it still brings back the emotions of those times. I was in the Air Force during those years.

Jimi..........you are still missed.
