You all continuing the issue only works to prevent people from discussing other issues on the site as a concern of a mob mentality, like in this thread often has a negative effect if not a comical one.

Personally, I think members who choose to use avatars that are offensive to some run the risk of having their posts prejudged or even ignored. OTOH the name of the site is a built in screen for those easily offended.

There is NOTHING wrong in people stating counter opinions, and just because there is a majority of those that have counter opinions, doesn't mean that there is a "mob mentality" going on here and just because someone may state a counter opinion does NOT automatically mean that the original opinion isn't respected.
Personally, I find it offensive to be told by someone here who is not a mod, to "move on". Hell, there's a thread here where you told a mod, Max, to "move on", which I feel is TOTALLY inappropriate.
So, unless a mod comes in to redirect this thread, you're demand of "move on" or "let it go" is falling on my deaf ears.
This whole "appropriate avatar" issue has been brought up at many sites, and to me, it's kinda of an interesting issue, so no, I will not move on, and I do believe that duh AND this site is stable enough to handle counter-opinions, even if it comes from a majority of users.

I have to say that I side with duh on this one in that I don't care for the new avatars. I don't find them offensive or anything, but the moving images are very distracting to me when I'm trying to read a long post or thread. If it was just a single picture of a woman and/or her ass I wouldn't think twice about it, but I do feel that currently they run contrary to the professional attitude and stance of this site. Not to mention it'll only make it harder for FC to attract more female members.

They have that effect on me too, and I think a clip like this of natural movement is more distracting than the typical animated avatar that you see. And for me, the appreciation factor for the ass diminishes with repeated viewings, while the distraction level remains constant.Durden said:

Also highly debatable. I can tell you that my observation of mj forums over the years shows me that vapor forums/vapor sections get a lot less female participation in general. Females are probably outnumbered 10 to 1 or more on a large, diverse mj forum, and even more so in the areas of growing, hardware, etc. You could attribute 'ass avatars' to a lack of female participation here, but like I said, highly debatable. My personal opinion is that, at this time, we have a higher proportion of female members here than on the much more highly trafficked vape section at marijuana.com, for instance. And you don't always know the sex of a member by user name or post content either.
We certainly aren't discouraging anyone from expressing his or her opinion/attitude on this subject.

To extend lwien's invitation to vape w/strippers, I can't knock it till I try it, so I'll get back to this thread if it ever does happen. My experience w/talking w/prostitutes and managers of strip clubs were mostly tales of childhood abuse w/no stories of the hot chick trying to make it through college. Don't you guys get HBO?

I'd wager the trifecta. In HS, the guys talking the loudest were usually the ones getting it the least. Moreover, to add to your point, there is no intrinsic vape value of your avatar that gives us any idea of who you are (i.e. "I heart my Extreme", etc.). Perhaps in your avatar, if your favorite vape was hanging out of her cooch?

My comments were not not about contrary opinions and you know this. What I said was very clear and too the point. It has to do with beating up on a guy who expressed his opinion. Iwien, you are the only want to be hall monitor I have seen around here really. Please do not succumb to innaccurate mannerisms by trying to portray people incorrectly. I have no desire to be a mod of this site nor have I ever expressed a desire to do so.
I dont get how people can claim to care about the site/vaping and yet show so much contempt towards others who do not act as they do. I also dont understand the desire/need to keep on bashing the guy.

When I became a man, I promised myself to NEVER put away my childish things, and now, as the most senior member (in age) in this forum, I can proudly say that those childish things are still with me to this day. As a matter of fact, it kind of defines me.

beezleb, i dont think anyone is picking on anyone. duh ask for our opinions and we all stated them, not harshly but with a comical tone to the post. this is in the lounge, where we can write about anything we feel the need to write about that isn't about vapor, to an obvious degree that doesn't insult a person, and i dont think anyone here has done that. no one was calling him a fucktard or anything, and duh, as far as i know, your not lol.

No, I don't get HBO and don't watch television at all but I have known (know) a few strippers outside of that setting. It's a very sad life. All were abused. All have had bad addictions, (crack, meth etc.). Not one 'hot chick struggling to make tuition'...
