Oh snap, my dad has Ménière's disease as well.
He hasn't had a major episode in 3+ years but when he did... scary stuff!
His insurance actually paid for this weird device you stick in your ear every night. Retails well over $1000 for the device, but he did it daily for almost a year and hasn't had any issues since.
My heart goes out to your dad! My daughter had to witness my episodes as well. And when it's all over.... How do you tell a child who just watched you wreath and upchuck for 6-8 hours, that everything's ok now?
Thank you so much for mentioning the device! It is something that didn't come up while I was researching. When I weigh out the options, assuming MMJ stops working for me and my other option is the deafening-surgery I mentioned, $1,000 is very little to pay in respect to the alternative of permanent complete hearing loss.
Here's device info (probably), for our future reference, and it sounds both non-intrusive and promising!
Pressure pulse treatment (Meniett® device). This is a machine which generates a pulse of pressurized air into the ear canal and may be offered to you if your main problem is severe vertigo.
I am very happy to hear that your dad has not had a major episode in years! Sincerely, I hope it remains that way!!!
Next topic for discussion....
Edibles, Fat Content, and Delayed Effects
Wanted to also get this topic out there for discussion and input, as I've noticed something. When I don't have time to whip up a batch of Firecrackers, but need the medible-type extended elevation, I've always tossed back a tablespoon full of ABV, swallowed with a drink, then immediately followed by a tablespoon of Nutella or High-Fat peanut butter. This has worked a charm until I discovered something recently.
My body seems to store the cannabanoids for which there was not enough fat content to process initially. For on three separate occasions, I've dosed as described above... then 2 times within a couple hours ate a really high fat content mean and BAM, medicated beyond belief, but didn't vape or intake any further cannabis other than the initial tablespoon of ABV. So basically, I was riding on a mini-elevation for the two hours, then ate the fatty meal and shortly after blasted off into space!
To test my theory, I did the same exact dosing one morning before an outing... tablespoon ABV + tablespoon of Nutella.... but waited 7 hours before eating a fatty meal. I'll be dipped! Same thing happened.... shortly after, launched into medicated outer space!
(Just discovered all this as usually don't eat meals out that are high in fat content.)
I know it won't last forever, waiting, in my system.... but is good to know you can down ABV and trigger its effects much later. Would be handy for times when carrying ABV would be risky, but the effects desired.
Anyhow, anyone experience the same?
Sometimes it's all about the marketing!
