Is winterizing absolutely necessary for making e-juice?

No, never really got into rosin. Generated a few chips, but just vaped them. If making rosin routinely, would definitely try QWET on the chips (after which, you shouldn't need to winterize, but why not just do QWET first?). Most of the terpenes will likely be in the rosin, but the remaining oil might be fine for e-juice.

This here isn't distillate, they claim it is simply co2 extract that is dewaxed and mixed with terpenes. So 40% terpenes? So the dewaxing must be alcohol right?

40% terpenes seems pretty crazy, but it's consistent with the product description. There might be other ways beside alcohol to dewax large-scale preps - don't know.
