I think it’s hard for the mods to keep up on all the trolling. Most folks are awesome on FC. FC is a large membership which means more work if you are a mod, they can only do so much. Since the owner of this site isn’t coming on or making an appearance lately makes it difficult for the mods to be able to update any software.
I have noticed some folks get really demanding in wanting info and will get pissed if someone suggests the search key.
I’ve had some problems in the past and have PMd the mods about it and they have always been there to take care of it. It’s amazing what some folks will say when they know nobody knows who they are. I’ve had to make it so a certain person couldn’t PM me anymore with horrendous name calling. It really threw me a curve because I’ve had always thought of FC as a safe place to be. At the same time I was going through some life changing personal problems which made things worse.

Well, at this point, I'm not sure exactly what topic we are talking about.
If its the change in the MJ community as a whole, I would say that that is due to a very large influx of new people as a result of legalization...rec or med. A lot of these folks have not been running from the law over MJ for 50 years like myself and many others. Many are people very new to MJ as a whole and do not have...nor, I think, want....a background in the long standing, underground, MJ culture.
If its FC we are talking about....well, again, big influx of people. The days of MJ discussion boards being a small band of dedicated outlaws is kind of over and with it that particular vibe....IMO, of course! haha
I also see a change in the community's discussions resulting from the greater maturity of vape design....maturity to the point that (in general) I haven't really felt excited about new offerings. They mostly seem to be variations on existing themes and don't really have a lot in the way of ground breaking, new, improved tech. I mean, one manf big reveal not too long ago was....OH, A NEW COLOR!! haha Just seems like a lot of repacking and small variations on a theme so what is there to talk about. I think we will see more true innovation when more corporate money is in the industry and available to fund true R&D.
@Madri-Gal - I liked but didn't comment on your sharing of your prior nightmare of a living situation (resolved now). I wasn't sure that bringing it up again would be helpful or just bring back bad memories. But I do want you to know that I was deeply moved and upset about what was being done to you.

@Baron23 , thank you. Knowing there are good people like you who care has helped the healing. I'm not sure if I would have made it without the support of my friends at FC and VA. I get a glimpse of the past of FC when reading threads started years ago, and I'm sorry I missed it. It's a beautiful day, I got to work in the garden, and it's going to be fine. I'm happy today. The worst is over, and there is hope for the future. Cannabis, and this community has given me hope. Thank you, @Baron23 . Your kind words have touched me.

Yeah, having felt personally attacked for no real reason for the first time EVER here today, I have to say FC community is changing and IMO it’s mostly due to a large influx of rather stupid and immature redittors and their insistence on bringing their toxic attitudes and online personas with them, while actually contributing very little actual good. The same fuckers who have a question/idea/product that’s in no way new or hasn’t been explored but they have no idea of that because they refuse to read, not even a few pages, even though it’s in the rules to avoid this type of worthless shite! They don’t need to follow rules, these are the same fuckers who expect to be spoon fed information and are way too important & busy to look for that which they lack, of course they’re pissed to be treated like everyone else!
And yes, @CarolKing is right (as usual) it’s unreasonable to expect two mods to moderate the “be nice” rule when the population is growing so rapidly, I don’t see how they can. Do these dumbasses not even glance over the rules when they register? I wish that the site was more manageable so that our very simple rules were enforced better. I would love to know who was mean to Carol, that really pisses me off. Seriously.
Like @Madri-Gal , I love reading old threads and wish that I had found this place sooner, I feel like I got in on the tail-end of the kind and gentle era. But I’m glad those old threads are there for insomnia and painful nights and there’s still lots of good stuff to be learned. It seems to me that the most popular and established product threads have become broken records and echo chambers, cyclically repeating themselves. @Baron23 has good points: tech-wise, nothing’s really been new in quite a while and the vaporization scene is surely going from the outlaw/enthusiast to the mainstream masses.
I love being able to joke and tease my friends here and know they’ll take it as affectionate. Even counting the time I lurked before joining, over the last several months I’ve increasingly had a feeling that FC isn’t really the same place and I’ve been trying to just ignore the insecure dumbasses but I guess the issue came to my doorstep, so to speak. And it left me feeling like being here a little less tbh.
Also really need to say there are folks who have come aboard in the last year that feel like family and have contributed greatly to the knowledge and vibe of FC in their short time here. I’m not wishing FC wouldn’t grow or change, everything changes; just wish there weren’t so many dickheads around recently. Hopefully they’ll get bored with civility and bail, or the FC community will change. Attitudes are contagious.

Sorry to hear about that. This happened to me today as well. I typically just chalk these sorts of things up to misunderstandings.
Digital communications are not the best medium for picking up things like irony or playful sarcasm, and often such things can be misconstrued as an attack.

I agree with some of you. I havent gotten super excited about a new vaporizer in a long time. I used to buy several vaporizers a year. I still buy accessories. It seems like a lot of the units are just replicas of something else. Some vaporizers like the Grasshopper were over promised and wasn’t made very well. There is only so much to say until it’s time to move on.
A lot of the FC regulars in the past I think were on the older side. We may have a lot of new members that are younger and offer a slightly different vibe and outlook. Maybe have slightly different expectations. Just thinking out loud is all. Not placing any blame.

I've gotten in debates with some long time FCer's as well as others but have never been "attacked" by anyone. I've never "attacked" anyone myself. Sometimes those debates got heated and there were threads shut down but the shut down was due to a lack of civility and not name calling.
Is the issue name calling, threats, both?
EDIT: After thinking about it more.... Just realized that in some of those debates I guess you could classify some of it as name calling if you found the reply to be pigeonholing or stereotyping specific enough to equate to a derogatory term. I don't recollect anything where someone outright called me something heinous like "asshole" or even "republican"

One thing that bummed me out was all my previous pictures were gone because of Imgur. No fault of our moderators. Something that possibly could be fixed by different software for future pictures. I know Tiny Pics works but that doesn’t fix the past pictures that were posted.
If the owner of this site happens to show up, I hope that’s something that could be discussed with him. I appreciate that this site hasn’t been shut down. It has been a very long time since the site owner has shown up from my understanding. It's also my understanding that as owner, he's the only one holding the keys.
I can't imagine what would happen if all of a sudden this site went down for some technical issue or hack. I would be devastated. It was this site that introduced me to the world of vaping and it's still this site I rely on when evaluating new purchases. I can honestly say that I do not know of any other vape sites. This is the only one I come to first and foremost everyday.
I sure hope the owner shows up. I think the possibility of this site just dropping off the net is too real.
