Is FC Being Blocked on my Phone?

Within the last 2 weeks, I have been unable to access FC on my phone. I get email notices regarding threads I am following, but when I try to open them up, it says "This site can't be reached. The connection was reset" and I am unable to bring the site up. Is there a fix for this?

Whatever your problem is, it's not with the site. I connect with my iPhone all day long no matter if it's via a wifi connection, or my phone service (Sprint.) How do you connect to email? Can you just go directly to the FC site via a browser rather than clicking a link in the email?

I have the same issue actually. I have had to wait until I can get on someones wifi? I have two different phones with different carriers but same problem with both.

Even at home where I know the wifi is strong, I still have the issue, but only on my phone so I know it's not the site. My iPad works just fine, as does my computer. That's why I think my carrier (AT&T) may be blocking it somehow. Even before when I was not near wifi and using 4G, I could get it just fine. And @archangelz001 I can get to my email ok, but cannot get to FC either through a link in my message alerts or directly using the browser. Maybe they are blocking the word "fuck"?? I don't know, but I sure would like to straighten it out. It's annoying.

Got the same shit on my android phone suddenly a few days ago! I googled similar cases and found out it was the DNS address. With a DNS changer from Play store it worked fine. Once I switch off the DNS I am blocked again. It is not blocked from the provider cause otherwise we wouldn't be able to access FC from our other devices... It's a mystery but I think it might has to do something with changes in FC... Maybe @vtac can have a look at this?

@nickdanger @natural farmer Were/are you able to access the site using your phone after disabling cellular data and using wifi only as @nosmoking was?

Also please check for any type of filtering software affecting your phone and internet connection. It could be an app on your phone or some type of parental control settings in your internet provider account.

Been having the same issue for about a week or so: FC works fine over wifi, but I can't connect when using cellular data. Most recently happened while I was out on Saturday afternoon.

However, I'm at home now and just turned off wifi and successfully connected to FC, so it's either fixed or that's a bad test?

I'm not sure how to disable cellular data on my phone, but I know it is not a parental control setting. Our internet provider and cellular provider are different. We have Cox internet and AT&T as our cellular provider. I have not had a problem on my hard-wired computer or iPad (wifi only), just with my phone.

I just did a test and turned off wifi on my phone and was able to access the site using cellular data. Turned wifi back on and it works now. My problem was first noticed when I was away from my wifi network so it had to be using cellular data at the time of no access.

Not sure what all this will tell you, if anything, but I sure appreciate you helping to troubleshoot!

I just did a test and turned off wifi on my phone and was able to access the site using cellular data. Turned wifi back on and it works now.

Now this is how troubleshooting is supposed to work. Wish I could take credit for doing something here. Hopefully you've fixed the problem for good.

One guess is that sometimes phones drop connectivity when switching between cellular and wifi, although that would affect any website and as I understand it, this was only affecting fc for you guys. Another theory is that your device/provider was trying to resolve the site using a method that wasn't fully supported somewhere in the chain.

The next time it happens please let me know and we'll dig deeper.

Just saw the messages buddy but I can't test now cause I bricked my phone in the meanwhile and it's gone for service. Don't remember if I could access from wifi actually, I think my home internet wasn't connected at the time. When the home internet was connected I bricked the phone trying to update it... When it's back I will test again of course!

Iv been having this exact same problem too...
I thought ee may have blocked fc...

I have to use a vpn to get on fc using mobile data now....
