Is a vaporizer what I need?

I am very new to Medical Cannabis. I smoked recreationally over 20 years ago so I am out of touch. To start, I purchased a small glass pipe. It is very hot and harsh. I'd like to try and get away from smoking. Bongs have been suggested to me but I am thinking a Vaporizer might be the right thing.

Here's what I would like.
I am interested in easy control of dosage and I am a lightweight so micro-dosing sounds great.
I use different strains during the day than in the evening so I would like to be able to easily change out the medicine.
Portability would be nice and a smaller form factor is preferable.
I would like it to be simple to use and not require a lot of mods but some down the road are fine.
It would be great if it wasn't stinky but I suppose if it is small enough , I can keep it enclosed in something.
Overall performance and quality is a plus.
I am using this device only for myself.

I don't want to spend a lot but am willing to spend whatever is necessary to get the right device.

I have looked at a few and read lots of reviews but it is a little overwhelming.

I appreciate any input you all have.

An enano or underdog might suit you. They are not portable, as they require electric power. But they are small and discrete. About like a red bull can. And they can be fancy made with custom wood.

Medically they allow you to take a hit and put it down until your ready next time. Most portables keep cooking until the unit cools well after shut off. With these two vapes the load goes in a glass stem and once removed the cooking stops Best of luck

It sounds like a vaporizer is exactly what you "need" or at least what you have been looking for.
I would suggest looking into the "Arizer Solo" or Arizer Air. They are both very user friendly for beginners and high quality, fair priced vapes.
Not to sound to much like a salesman but a few highlight of the solo/air are:
1. Portable with decent battery life.
2. Easy to read and use temp. settings.
3. Excellent flavor
4. Able to use dry as well as with a water piece. (additional gong needed)
5. Conservative with your material

These are just a few positives check out the threads for each, start about 20 pages back and read up from there.

I know it's easy to get overwhelmed but feel free to ask any questions, you are among friends here.

Is it easy to change the medicine? Currently I am taking approximately 1-2 doses during the day and one at night. The night one is different. The doses are 2-3 hits and I'd like to go lighter in most cases. I've only tried a couple of strains thus far but they are all potent.

I recommend the Pax2 especially for a beginner. I think it is a perfect first vape.

Small bowls are not a problem, it is very stealth, long run-time, no batteries or parts to worry about. If you happen to need to hide it quick you can throw it in you pocket or purse immediately. You will need a smell proof container or caps from @Ratchett. You should also clean it every few days.

Almost forgot it has a 10 year warranty.

I have looked at that one but I thought it had to be filled? That sounds like way too much for my usage. You are saying I can put very small doses in it? That would be cool and might sway me towards that one.

The other one I was considering might work is the Arizer Solo.

Yes it's easy to change medicine. It's also very efficient. A load is about like a pencil eraser. And yes check out this style.

The pax 2 suggestion is a good one too, if you want a portable. They are very convenient. I prefer the log vapes for flavor over most portables though. But the pax 2 is tiny and very discrete.

I think one of the Arizer models from a Authorized retailer. For the full warranty and piece of mind. Just decide which features you prefer. PAX 2 isn't as mod friendly but is a solid package. All of Arizer products have been around for a while and are very mod friendly and robust and fill nearly all your points. Pleanty of info on the threads to back that up. I don't own either their portables, but love the adaptability of their desktop the Arizer EQ (Extreme Quiet) with it's 18mm male fitting and 3 speed fan. Not so sure about the stink factor with any portable. But some are more suited for enclosures and seal proof options than others.

There is give and take with any vape. My Summit has some pros and cons, but it can vape at the lower and higher temp range with almost no air restriction. Shotgun of a vape. Great for microdosing, But a small battery. So it's quick to drain and quick to recharge. With a fakey pass thru if needed. Small but hard to adapt to a gong.

I just watched a video on the E-Nano. That thing looks great! I'm going to take a closer look at it.

I am still interested in the Pax 2 but I can only get one device. I'd like portability but the reality is that I can get a vape pen or something if I have to for the infrequent times I'd "need" it. It would be nice to not have a cord but I really dig what I was seeing in that video review of the E-Nano. I didn't look at the other log you mentioned. I'll have to check that out too.

The Pax2 can do small doses just fine. I never, ever, fill the Pax2 in fact I never have filled it.

That's cool. Did you have to mod it or get a "pusher" or something or do you just put only a small amount in it? Also, why do you recommend the Air over the solo? The reviews I recall said it wasn't much of an improvement and the solo is cheaper. I could be wrong since I have been reading about and looking at a lot of different vapes.

I HIGHLY suggest an arizer air or solo, great for small loads and very versatile. I had owned a flowermate and mflb before but the arizer solo is what convinced me to "fuck combustion".

It was a gamechanger for me, plain and simple. Its considerably better tasting, more efficient and versatile than the PAX 2 IMO..

I agree with the Arizer Solo. The Arizer Air is great and will fit in your pocket, but the Solo has longer battery life and when I had one it always seemed to charge quickly. One battery in the Arizer Air seemed to take just as long as the Solo's two.

Vaporizers and their parts have minimal smell when they're not in use. Some smell more than others. Exhaled vapor and cooked herb does smell quite a bit, but it is much easier to manage if you need to be stealth. When I first started vaporizing I had a roommate who didn't use at all and didn't want me to use when his girlfriend was there.
We were renting the house from my mom and he was getting a VERY good deal on the rent, so I disregarded his wants because I was an asshole. He would always say something to me about the smell after she left, but his girlfriend didn't notice anything for months! Some people (that have been around weed or are perceptive, like cops) just know that smell no matter what.

I have made some posts in the thread before. Bought it when it was a new type and had it replaced through Vapeworld 4X. Summit #4 has been fine so far. No problems.
It has a wide temp range for a portable and ramps up quickly. Almost no restriction. I can iron draw and not taste anything until I exhale. It does have a small nalgene like aftertaste due to the type of plastic used. (Not a heat thing.) Very small and lightweight for a vape with a 3 inch vape path. Small battery for a vape that ramps up quickly and conducts as well as it does. Usually get 5-8 power-ups. Where others are more suited to keeping a steady temp like say the PAX 2 and I presume the Arizer portables.
This is a one hit and forget stealth vape. Also not very adapter friendly with the mouthpiece. Again unlike the Arizer choices.
But I have modded my Summit's mouthpeice.

Eventually I will probably want a portable device but for now, the conservation of herb along with the ease of micro-dosing makes the E-Nano the most attractive option. I'll head over to that forum and see what I can learn.

Congratulations! Besides what you've already mentioned epic vapes are good people to deal with. It is not a mass produced product, but made by hand in a small shop. And the owner posts here.

Taste wise and efficiency are both top notch with the enano. And down the road you can mate it with a water tool. You made a good choice.
