Iolite Problem

Hey I'm new to the forums so whatsup everybody?

So I recently got the iolite and I feel like I can't get high off of it. I do everything the instructions say and I used about a gram with 4 people.

Any help??

I sparked like 2 bowls with my friends afterwords and got pretty baked...did I just need more weed cause thats what Im thinking..

Have you ever hit a whip style vaporizer before? you may be drawing on it wrong so you're not getting much vapor

when I draw on mine I can blow pretty good clouds. are you getting that?

It's a matter of patience, not numbers. Even patience during a hit is a factor. It's important to know how the hot air stream is affected by incoming cold air.

So I wait for the red light to go off and then I hit it but not much comes out. Is there a certain way to hit it? How many tokes do you get per pack would you say about?

heres how i use it. turn it on and wait till it cycles twice. then I fill it and wait another cycle. then just inhale gently. like your sipping out of one of those little red stirring straws. dont hit it immediatly after you exhale, wait 30 secs or so then hit agian. after a couple of draws, you should be getting clouds

It has a thermostat that controls the internal temps. just let it sit and it will do its thing. Go slow with it, the longer it sits between draws the better it works. Slow on everything, warming up, hitting, pausing between hits, SLOW is the key IMO. I dont get clouds like off a desktop vape, but it does put off decent ones.

Others fill it first and wait a couple of cycles then start to draw.

The hissing sound indicates reheating. You don't necessarily have to wait for reheating between every hit. It really depends on how hard and long your draws are.

You don't have to preheat the bowl. Having the chamber loaded before you turn the unit on will let you get your first hit quicker.

The time doesn't matter nearly as much as how you hit it. Nice and easy is better with most models since an easy hit helps maintain the vaping temp.

It depends on various factors-how much is loaded, how long the unit's been on, etc. You can get an effective hit after about the first 90 seconds, but you'll get more visible vapor after it's been on for 5-10 min. With any vaporizer the lighting you're exhaling into is also a big factor for visible vapor. Lots of visible exhaled vapor doesn't equate to better performance. It's easier to get a lot of visible vapor with larger whip and bong style vapes. I can get quite wrecked with the iolite without seeing much vapor at all.

I'm glad it doesn't take me nearly that much or nearly that long. One person's 'wrecked' is another's 'buzz'.
Just goes to show that an answer to a question like that isn't useful at all, since it totally depends on the person, and everyone is different.

I know everyone has different ways of how they inhale and it also depends on the kind of stuff you're using. But this is how I do it to give you some sort of baseline:

Nicely ground stuff packed half full takes me about 10-15 mins(fill the bowl and allow it to heatup for 2 mins). Usually that gives me about 7 draws of nice vapor(with each being a slow 7 second draw). Hold the vapor in for 10s. Then I just wait 10s for the next draw and I'm set. I hope this helps in some way as this got me and a buddy pretty wrecked. I do find it harder to work the iolite in big groups as there is usually someone who is impatient and draws too fast. Anyway, this way works for me.
