Corbyn is a fucking legend. He IS a lovely man. He is not perfect - but he is consistently on moral high ground in regards to pretty much any issue, as far as I've seen. You can trust him. His heart's in the right place, and his brain is too. That is what I want from a politician, but rarely see. I will be joining that party. ETA: now joined

I am from the UK and I 100% agree JC is a legend and a decent person. He was doing fine until he said if he got into power he would look into the UK media having links to Russia and look into all their finances. After he would do this EVERY UK newspaper and media outlet went for him in the most shameful way, making up stories that he was linked to Russia and a lot of nasty stories about him every day and in the end that ruined his chances of becoming PM.

I am sure the above is how he ended up getting ruined by the media but if am wrong or not got all the details please feel free to say.

Actually I wasn't aware of that. That's interesting. I just thought they went after him because 1) he is serious about doing good shit, not just good PR, and 2) doing good shit is actually quite dangerous to people with power and influence. Not unlike how some in the US see Latin American revolutions and want to shut them down. If one of them makes a success of a genuine socialist democracy, it's "dangerous" because it sets an example for others. That thing about nationalising broadband didn't help either as far as I can see, just added another nail to his electoral coffin.

I'm with you, it is great to see UK people who support him. I'm surprised there weren't more, and I was saddened by how many friends, who I assumed would support him, didn't. I was like "am I being naive here or... " so I looked at him a bit more critically, and after that I liked him even more.

In almost 50 years I'd not seen a political party that I like enough to join. He changed that.
