Discontinued Inhalater XP

Why not just soak the whole capsule? There is really no reason to remove the screen unless you are replacing it.

Little particles get trapped around the outside edge of my screens so I remove them. This is probably because I used my own (finer) screens that I cut down.

so my xp died suddenly wednesday.
gave it a couple of days imagining it would come back to life but sadly no.
the charging light works normally but i can't turn the xp on.
should i go straight to pharmacor or PV?
How long was it working for? More than a month?

JoeKickass,
So considering looking at an XP for stealth public usage (mostly club concerts). I love my Pax for its stealth looks, and it works like a beast, but the mother does make a stink that has caused me some concern (and at least one close call), so I have stopped using it in the clubs.

Need feedback from XP users. How stealth is the smell with this one? Would you recommend it for what I describe above, or does it produce a similar odor? I'm hoping with convection, the odor will be much less pronounced than with the conduction of the Pax.

The odor is less of a pax but it still smells even before you breath through it. It also has a bright green light that flashes to let you know when to breath, so that might be a tiny bit suspicious.

Just do what I did, and cover the light (or part of it) with black electrical tape for some ninja-like stealth vaping......

HazyDaze,
Yeah, the green light thing is an issue with the Pax also. I just kept my finger on it, no problem. However, just turn the Pax on and it emits an obvious and apparently widespread odor. The last time I tried to use it during a club concert, I had security combing the crowd trying to find out where that smell was coming from, and I hadn't even hit it at that point. I had to shut her down immediately. God it sucks living in a backwards-ass state, and this particular club, which gets great music, apparently is very concerned that someone might be getting high rather than buying their fucking incredibly overpriced legal drug.

So those who have experience with both: If you put the odor emitted by the Pax at the high mark on a scale of 10, where would you put the XP?

But are they replaceable and can you buy filters for the capsule or do they only sell the entire capsules? How much are the filters?

Thanks

The capsules are replaceable they are $10 tho. You can buy just the screens from PV $3.50 for 10 but imo there really is no reason to. The capsule is what really collects the dirt and the screen is easily cleaned. The capsule on the other hand appears to not be as easily cleaned at least if you let the resin build up like I did on one of mine which has been soaking for a few days but isn't coming clean even after scrubbing with salt and q-tip.

Where are the capsules 10 dollars @?? I swear they are like 13.99

My friends white XP just broke right now[got it 2 weeks ago], we were going for a session with it after letting it charge and now the top light doesnt come on at all.. Its dead.

He has a white, hex screwed bottom XP from kush paradise.. I feel bad cuz I told him to buy this vape.

Also still no tracking notification for my replacement from Pharmacor, seems like my homeboy is gonna be out of a vape for months with the way my replacement is being handled.. 250$ paper weight thats tough!

Hearing about the failures is making me reconsider and look into the pax again, I like that there doesn't seem to be any "consumable" parts like the Inhalater capsules that have a limited life.

I thought I had decided the Inhalater was better than the pax for me but don't remember why, now I seem to be leaning towards the pax. What is better on the Inhalater that could have made me decide it was better than the pax last year?

Thanks

Pax is small and powerful but uses lots of herb.

Inh is powerful and still portable but can stop working.

Pinnacle is sleek small and easy but not quite as powerful.

FlashVAPE is cheap & efficient but large and heavy.

Ascent seems promising but isn't reviewed yet.

Pick your poison lol

i would think the reason you were leaning XP earlier is probably because the Pax's use of all conduction causes it to really fly through herbs, and also, the pax requires a lot of care, because if you dont clean it, the mouthpiece will get stuck and then you cant turn it on.

Ah, but the Pax does have consumable parts. Unlike the Inh, you cannot change the Pax battery yourself. When it finally dies, you will have to send it back for replacement. Minor issue, I think, since Ploom has made a battery-replacement plan available and reasonable. But it is something to consider since you can't do it yourself without voiding the warranty.

On the other hand, don't let the cleaning warning scare you with the Pax. It's not nearly the problem many make it out to be. With a minimal amount of care, it functions just fine. I personally don't think the Pax blows through herbs like some claim either, not if you are using it as a personal vape. It will get you toasted pretty fast with about the same amount of herbs that, say, the Iolite would use. Does it take more than a log vape? Probably, but then it gets you there much faster also. I can't compare usage to the Inh since I don't own one, but I think some of the claims that the Pax uses significantly more than a convection vape are hyperbolized.

A few things, though, to bear in mind with the Pax is that it does emit quite an odor when turned on, whether using it or not, and when the battery is drained, you have to wait 1-1.5 hours for a recharge: No quick-change with a precharged battery. I would say your choice really boils down to how you plan to use it, what other vapes you have, and what you really want in a portable.

TheDudeNextDoor,
I think the real problem with herb consumption in the pax is that it does not matter whether you are ripping or not, the herbs will still be constantly roasted, so you cant stop in the middle of a bowl and come back to it later. Also if you dont rip for a minute or 2, it will still be roasting. With cleaning, my view may be skewed because the pax i used was my friend's who took good care of it, but then he sold it to someone who did very little to take care of it, causing the mouthpiece to get completely stuck over the course of a couple of weeks, and now it just doesnt work because the mouthpiece wouldnt come out, and through trying to fix it, he completely broke it. The real drawback for me was not being able to use it while charging though. But we should probably get this thread back to its true topic, the inhalater.

smoke blunts,
Last word about the Pax just to clarify something you said. You can come back to an oven by shutting it down and drawing off the heat with a few quick pulls. Also, it has a built-in feature that sets it to low temp if it is unmoved for 1.5 minutes and then shuts it down after 3 minutes of no use. With all that said, though, it is conduction, so if you keep it moving without drawing from it, then yes, it continues to roast the herbs. It's really all in how you use it.

Okay, back on topic.

I'd have to put the XP at about 7, but only because I would put the T1 at 1.

If I didn't have a lower smell vape to compare it to I would give the XP a lower number, but with the T1 and MFLB being MUCH lower smell vapes, the XP has to get a 7.

Both the Pax and the XP are constantly heating the load (and I believe the primary method of the XP is conduction, not convection). The XP has a cap, so you can contain some of the odor before you draw, but it still smells a lot more compared to the T1.

Not as bad as the Pax though.

My MFLB stinks WAY more than my INH and it cannot be cleaned. Whereas I can use my pre-loaded Inh almost anywhere, even more so if carrying my smoke buddy jr. I also put my finger on the tip between draws to avoid any spillage. This has worked for me anywhere, even on the bus.

Changing the battery for the Inh yourself is actually not very safe. The website made it look easy so I tried it myself since I have so many 18650 batteries lying around. Once you pull out the cap, all the electronics go out with it before the battery comes out. I decided to give up and charge it with micro-usb and ship it back to a battery replacement if needed because it will break easily if you do not know what you are doing.

Sorry to bring this back up again but it bothers me when people state guesses as fact. The Pax does not enter power save/low temp mode after 90 seconds, that would be more than long enough to ruin your load. I don't know the exact timeout myself as I don't have a Pax but most users say it is 20 seconds (I specify that I'm not sure about the answer and do not state it as fact).

This makes a huge difference, if it was 90 seconds I would not buy a Pax because it would ruin your load when left idle, at 20 seconds it's not long enough to ruin your load. Please don't spread false information when you don't know the answer, had I blindly trusted you I would not consider buying the Pax, luckily the 90 second timeout you mentioned is not true.

Secondly I think you made a mistake when you say "You can come back to an oven" as that doesn't really make any sense.

To get back to the Inhalater, you guys have a few last chances of convince me to get the Inhalater over the Pax but I'm quite sure I'll go with the Pax due to it not needing expensive replacement capsules and the longer warranty. What are the benefits of the Inhalater over the Pax?

Thanks

Better temp control, ease of re-loading, more efficient better taste.
