I did receive tracking info from Greg when my replacement shipped last week. I can't say that means everyone did.

Hey everyone. :)

So i received my replacement inhalater xp earlier this week. It's been working pretty well for me until it stopped heating up today.

Emailed inhalater and they sent me this video

Video description says

It works again!
Thought it would be neat to share this if anyone else gets any trouble with their new xp

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe a food-grade white oil would be much much more appropriate for that application, instead of motor oil.

I just received my second replacement today. I'm not happy. It still smell like burnt plastic. I have not loaded it with herb and when I turn it on, you can see wisps of vapor off gassing. I feel like this may be a health risk inhaling this vapor. The video shown below is after 6 burn cycles. My first XP did the same thing and was not used.

Taylor I don't think oil works in those applications. It drys right out so therefore isn't lubing the place where they want it. If they use those types of oils it would need to be done all the time. I don't know if they make a food grade like the tri-flow I was told to use on my chair but I imagine the piece isn't in the air path anyhow. I am sure someone will chime in that knows about this stuff.

yeah, since I can cover the holes and still get some air coming from somewhere. I don't think motor oil is appropriate.

Edit @kaptan put the link directly in line with the text instead of using the icons and the vid should work.

I'm not sure that it would dry out... I used to sneak out my parents basement door in high school late at night to smoke. Door squeaked horribly loud, and risked getting me caught. I used some of my dad's Chevron food grade white oil, and the door hasn't made a sound in about ten years. There are many types of food grade white oils, finding the one with the right properties is key!

You might be pulling air around the capsule. On my Inh004 my capsules are very tight and if I plug the holes I get no air flow at all. With my Xp the capsules are a little looser and I get a tiny bit of air flow when the holes are covered. I am pretty sure it is designed so that the electronics are not in the air path.

And to reply to the person who inquired about sandwiching hash between herb I do it all the time and it works great. Just be careful if using full melt because it could potentially drip into the heating element and damage it, or possibly clog up the intake holes. I will usually hold it upside down while it heats up and then keep it inverted for the first couple hits when using hash that melts. When using melt in it I will typically just put it on my bong so its upside down the whole time and I dont have to worry about it. I have some other hash that does not melt that I can put in without needing to use the herb sandwich.

Just gave my dad a call (he's an oil salesman)... He suggested that you look into using Chevron Superla 35 for this application. He said that it would maintain lubricating properties just as long as something like motor oil, and doesn't contain additives like zinc.

I'm surprised Greg didn't mention this in his post yesterday, but I was told today that production has been halted for three weeks on the device. I'm going to change the pre-order date on my website when I have a chance. Due to the previous issues we've had with timelines on releases, I'm contemplating ending pre-orders until I've received more promising news.

Sincerely,
Taylor

I'm surprised it wasn't mentioned either. I have a unit that's supposed to ship out today, but this makes me think I should cancel, and honestly after every malfunction I've seen on this thread, I should not reorder.

Swoops, I would personally cancel but wait and maybe the issues will be fixed. If they get the bugs fixed then the INH XP will still be the best vape IMO. We are still dealing with IF though.

I agree, hate to see so many people have problems.. And I am over here boasting this vape as the best portable in this section lol!!

It already is IMO even with the bugs [that i have]..

@Kaptan, that looks terrible man, I'd never want to inhale that stuff.. Hopefully you get an answer. Aren't they testing these XP's before sending them out??

Just remember that for every person who comes on here to say their unit broke there are probably 10 or more people out there like me with units that still work great. Many people will go online yo complain when something doesn't work as expected but far fewer numbers of people go online to let everyone know how happy they are.

While I would normally agree with this...it does not always hold true on a newly released product. I've discussed with Greg and they definitely have their hands full trying to fix these issues. A three week delay in production is the right call, painful, but the right thing to do....and usually the very last option.

I'd be very interested in knowing how many XP's are in the field.

Edit: I say this now with a fully functional XP in hand.

As much as that is a very true statement the manufacturer is saying the units have major issues then fixed them and came up with more. Now they are pulling them to fix them yet again.

I will say I do respect that they are stopping selling them to they sort this out. I wish they did that after the first batch and tested them very well before the new release. I hope they keep them this time to make sure before releasing them again. Those of us who love the INH don't like to see any units fail and want all to love it as we do.

This is 100% true. My XP works awesome, I love it. Haven't had even a blip of an issue since it's arrival. I also have two INH004s that work perfectly as well, and have always been fine.

I don't feel comfortable using the unit as the off gassing smell is horrible. This happened with my first replacement and now again on the second replacement. I did so many burn in sessions on the first that it deformed the heating chamber. That unit still off gasses after about 30 sessions running empty.
I hope Pharmacore can address the off gassing problem soon.

If you fill your capsules with ABV while doing the burn ins, how will you know it's not off gassing potentially harmful vapor?

I believe it's possible that doing empty burns like that might potentially cause the device to overheat to the point where the Delrin may begin to degrade. I have tried to recreate these "off-gassing" issues numerous times with no success thus far. It's obvious that the device was outside of the operating temperatures if the capsule was somehow deformed. I've heard of people taking butane torches to capsules for a few seconds without damage.

Sincerely,
Taylor

So, just got mine in the mail wooo hoo, thanks Taylor. What's the deal with this off-burning business? How many times do I do it? How Long? At what temp? Do I put anything in the capsules? How do I know it is okay to use?

I really hope I got a good one :) If not wont be too upset, cause I kinda want a white one now. They really need to try and get their stickers to match the finish on the cap. Would look much better.

Also, can I use any micro usb car charger for this bad boy?

I would reccomend at least 2 full cycles (until the unit turns off) on full temp with an empty capsule in the unit. I also switched capsules between cycles to make sure all the capsules got one full burn. Towards the end of the last cycle I put the tip against a black bacground to check for any gasses coming out and if I saw nothing I would give it a quick smell and/or taste test just to make sure it was running clean. With my Inh004 I did 3 burn ins, but with my XP I just did 2.

The news about halting production is a bit disturbing. I havnt received my replacement yet, but I'm almost contemplating refusing the shipment when it gets here, and getting a refund. I do not want to deal with another broken unit. I really love this company's dedication to its customers, but I am losing confidence in the XP. This sucks, I really love this vape.
