Info (pros/cons) on this bong plz

Hello,
A friend wants to give me a bong as a bday present. I can choose between a honeycomb perc bong or this bong in the photo. Never had one like this one, so not sure which to choose. I have also never used a pipe with that inverted conector.

So i was hoping someone around here could give me some info on this kind of bong, please. I'd like to hear about cons it may have. I plan to use it for my combusting friend and to filter the vapor of an Arizer V-tower.

Any input is much appreciated.

Not trying to hate, but a lot of cons.
It's DEFINITELY cheap , Chinese glass. Which means the color may be painted on and toxic, don't do it. If you want a nice colored piece, get American, or at least reputable like Grav-labs or TaG (Decent Chinese stuff).
If you want a cheap bong, get a proven design clear piece from DHGate, sunshine store, CCG, or Steven. The Cheap bong thread is the place to go for info on those, but the Matrix sidecar or GB-187 and D-020 are a few fan favorites.

Second con is its a male joint, go with a more up to date female joint (14mm is most common)

Third, that tree perc was ok for
smoking flower but there are much better for vaping weed, and MUCH better ones for dabbing.


I am a HUGE advocate for artist made, american glass. You can find quality pieces for under $100. But you could always try a colored piece like this to get your feet wet if you don't want clear and have to spend under $50.

I wouldn’t be too worried about the materials. But the function isn’t really going to be great for smoking or vaping with that beaker - too big for the EQ and the female bowl will get too dirty with combustion.

Is there any reason you’re limited to those two options? There are endless alternatives, I wouldn’t start or end on that purple beaker

thanks for the input. a friend was giving me a bong as a gift... gave me two choices (one was that purple thingy).. I ended up choosing neither hehehe got some dank bud instead!
