Arctic Fox better than FJ on the Imp? I was really keen on cruise control. Is it possible to modify cruise control values?
Very good points, and it's all in good fun, I wasn't trying to be hostile at all, I have a big grin. Yes, I tend to kill my bowls pretty quickly, which absolutely would explain the discrepancy in battery life.@antispleen: I'm not challenging you. Just pointing out it's apples vs oranges when comparing bowl counts. I'm pretty sure like most North Americans you are more of a "one hitter quitter" kind, or at least, as few big rips as possible per bowl kind of person. Whereas I get 30+ hits out of the exact same quantity.
And it clearly shows in battery consumption, I need one order of magnitude more heatup and cooldown cycles to get the same result. Has been the case with every convection vape I own. And as the Tubo cruise mode proved, it's during these transitions that most of the energy is spent. You don't need much Watts to maintain a hit, but you need a lot to get there. And cooling down is pure waste.
@deadlytoaster: with a single 18650, whatever the vape or attachment I get around 3-4 bowls per charge. With least efficient vapes like the Milaana it's closer to 2.5, and with more efficient ones and by pushing the cell voltage very low, like with the Imp for instance, I can get closer to 5, but never more.
With the Nomad which is pretty efficient I also only get only 3 because the low power heater becomes so anemic when the cell reaches 3.6V it's a struggle to get that 4th session (but it's possible) So I stop at 3 while there's still juice left.
The MistVape Touch was also quite efficient I found. But now that I got an Imp it's gathering dust. The Milaana has been doing the same for even longer tho...
Yes and I can even run it on a very small mod (with integrated battery) with great success. A tiny setup for sure. But no more than 4 bowls per charge, 4-6 hits per bowl.Using a 3000 mAh hg2 I am getting upwards of 10 bowls, damn near all day usage, with the new body stem setup, on fj firmware, on a vtc mini. Out of all the 510 herb mods I've used, imp is by far the most battery efficient.
The benefit is that you can configure out everything from the PC. TCR, temp, temp dominant (+v), resistance lock, etc'.What's the benefit of Arctic Fox?
Okay I've used AF and just wasnt happy with readout and interface is there a way for it to stop displaying Temp Protection when reached max temp. I ended up using NFE Toolbox and flashing the older Tubo Firmware for some reason the Official Joyetech software didn't want to patch it.The benefit is that you can configure out everything from the PC. He probably has another version of the Pico - the Pico won't be 100% ok with the IMP, the wood touches the cap of the battery of the PicoThis is an IG post where he filed a bit off the Pico battery cover

Then the Imp fits. The heat sink avoids having to carve up the mod
You think that the average user would be better using the TCR mode instead of Wattage? for avoiding combustion?Someone from France ordered an Imp and some stems and I can't remember which user it is. I need to confirm info on the stems. I sent an email but haven't heard yet. If you are from France and are waiting for your order please dm me and we can get yours shipped asap (it is sitting in shipping waiting for the stems, but I have questions about the stems).
I haven't used other mods but the evic vtwo mini has been great. Battery life seems similar to me but I haven't really done a careful comparison. For me the new stem is just so much better, when I built the first prototype I really liked it and then it broke and while I redesigned it I so missed the O ring stem.
I had paytonpenn and antispleen test it and they confirmed my results.
So I think kerozen has a great point it is a personal experience and a lot factors come into play.
Which settings are you using? TCR?I'm down to 4 bowls with the P80 single battery mod and a 30Q or HG2 battery with the new body.
I'm sure I could get more if I were trying to cashe the bowl in 2 or 3 hits but I'm not in a hurry and enjoying the slower more flavourful extraction over 10-15 draws, rotating and maybe stirring as I go.
I think tcr is the way to go. One user said he combusts with flower and only uses the Imp for concentrates. But he is running in watts on a smok al85 not tcr. I’ve never combusted with the Imp, never. All of my other vapes I've combusted from time to time. You think that the average user would be better using the TCR mode instead of Wattage? for avoiding combustion?
Which settings are you using? TCR?
Set the TCR to 185
Read the resistance and subtract .01 from that
Set the mod to about 190 degrees C
Test (increase the temp to get an idea of how far off you are)
Increase the resistance in .001 or .002 increments til you're happy
Aaaand
Enable PID mode in vaping > algo
Switch off the screensaver in screen > saver
Set the contrast to about 10% in screen > contrast
Disable the modes you don't use in vaping > modes
Set prot to 25 in vaping
Enable Autofi and set the ATime to infinity in vaping
Set the clicks you want in Interface > clicks (I like 2 PPwr 3 edit and 5 off)
