Hello FC,

I won $1000 in a competition. I have never dabbed. I don't remember anyway :D I don't know anyone who does oils and that kind of stuff. I don't want to buy those $25 pens on shops. Local stores says they have like butane free stuff that I can vaporize with. I would be honest, I probably have a lot to learn regarding what is good and what is safe to buy but I was hoping some of you with tons of experience will just point at something and go - Start with thaT!

I mostly always avoided that kind of stuff because all the pens and gear always seemed to have ton of these parts. It all seemed very intimidating. Not like loading up EVO bowl and go! But anyway, I'm feeling adventurous. Now I don't have to spend the whole $1000...I just have that much to spend :D

Do you need glass, or are you just looking for the gear?

You could get an Auber RDK300 with a coil ($144) and pick up a Liger banger (on sale for $80/90) with either a SiC ($80), Obsidian ($126), or sapphire insert ($276). Depending on which Liger size you choose, you could get a Gordo Riptide bubble cap (for 20mm and maybe 16mm, $90) or a Wierdeer glass carb cap (for 30mm, ~$75). That adds up to $600 at most, which could still end up leaving you enough money for a quality worked rig, dabber, silicone mat, and all of those other goodies.

Obsidian is a step up from SiC, which CCA710 is trying to phase out for good. I can't speak for any of the benefits of sapphire myself, but many people enjoy the flavor that it brings out in their concentrates.

No need for glass. You made a list! Awesome! Thank you!

@Krazy, as much as Dynavap is cool - I'm not a big fan of butane dry herb vapes.

Some portable solutions would be cool!

No need for lighter if you don't like that approach. Vapcaps can be heated with the @Pipes Induction Heaters. He make three, soon to be four models that run on rechargeable batteries/direct plug in to an electrical outlet. To heat your Vapcap you insert the tip into the induction heater and wait for the click.

They only take a few seconds to heat. They are modular so you can change up the look and function such as with water tools, but they have few parts. Easy to clean, super efficient and handles dry herb, hash and concentrates with ease. If you have a minute, the Vapcap can get you where you want to be.

The link below shows my method for using s concentrate pad in a Vapcap. You can have a fantastic portable all day concentrate sipper.

I hear you; I had mixed feelings in that regard myself. And there are some applications where butane is simply not an option; i.e., if stealth is paramount.
