How to grind fine and get kief?

Ok so i got myself the Space Case L, A Beast in everything but stupidly designed with 5mm holes. Now when i grind my bud i find some small hard lumps. When i crack out my old faithful scissors though these little lumps explode with dust and smell. How can a vaporizer get instant clouds with all the good stuff locked away in a 4-5mm sized nug?

So i said to myself, Turn it upside down? No then the kief gets rocked about not ideal at all. Ok buy a two peice but again how would you collect kief? Or i could look for a grinder with smaller holes or fewer holes which again i have NEVER saw in the desired quality.

Am i wrong to say no ideal solution exists? Why can i not have a grinder with just a few holes or say 2mm and let it powder and fall through and catch kief? At the minute the only thing i can think off if using my two peice grinder over a Kief box. This way i would make it double layered by sourcing different sizes of steel mesh. Like 150U followed by 70U. What do you guys think am i right or am i wrong?

I vape bud mate as oil is not something available in Europe, So Kief is my only potent extract and i can better use it for making rosin too than bud in a heat press. So really i require the ability to get near powder and seperate both.

3 pc would not work for me.

The Kannastor GR8TR has interchangeable plates so you can customize your grind consistency. I haven't used it personally, but there's a few people here on FC who have one and they seem to like it. A search for it in the Herb Grinders thread should provide more info.

I would recommend using some scissors/tweezers over Bubbleman 's Dry Sift box, or preferably a DIY double screen.

Or make a simple sift box yourself.

Practice the art of using static electricity to separate glandular head from the plant matter.
Use parchment paper wrapped around a DVD case.

Simple solution is grabbing some Silkscreen at 154 microns, frame it tight..
Use a pair of scissors to break up buds... Buds should be dryer than the typical 62%RH... Or the silkscreen will clog quickly.

Use a credit card (or similar, something disposable as it will eventually gunk up) to "card" the broken up material.

Eventually, you'll have a layer of kief.

I remove the top(grinding) section from my 4pc, do my upside down grinding till I get to the required consistency, then flip it over onto the mesh and kief section, give it a final grind to get it all down through holes, and I'm left with nice finely ground herb that let's kief fall through...

With a GR8TR grinder I don't have to worry about flipping the grinder upside down and wondering if i've turned it enough.
The finer grinder plate gives me consistently fine results and has found a permanent home in there

When it first arrived, I wasn't too keen on it, but after some use it's now my go-to grinder and once I get a replacement easy change screen with finer mesh, i think it will be hard for me to find something that suits my needs better

Since we are beating our meat over grinders like monkeys on viagra I have to update my opinion on the SLX grinder I purchased.

This thing fucking rips! It has easily seen 50g go through it since I purchased it & it has not been cleaned once yet spins like butter. The slick ceramic coating is what sold me & every single time I use the SLX it impresses me more.

I cannot think of a grinder that I could put so much material through & requires zero cleaning. I can only suggest anyone feeling like getting a new grinder at least considers the SLX range

i have a 4 pc 'titanium' space case and love it to death. If I am looking for a finer grind for the mflb, I will flip it upside down for a few twists. Any disturbance to the kief in the chamber is minimal at best, and has not slowed collection in any way that i notice. I figure at the absolute worst, you vape a tiny bit of kief with your finer grinds

Thanks i wanted to let this settle for a bit and take it all in. It seems the upside down method is probably the best it is just the damm material falls through quite quick! I looked at the Kannistor and even the fine plate seems to have too many holes, Maybe it aint holes we need but slits or X shaped slits?

I do not know i spent a lot on the Space case so i guess i will probably build a kief box and grind upside down. That way i never loss anything and never get OCD bugging me about it. I know what i need 120u and 70u but i am not prepared to pay Bubbleman box prices to be honest.

Anything stainless steel available elsewhere to build a box?

I vape 99% of them time and have gone through about 8 or 9 grinders. To this day, I still use the coffee grinder I bought myself for $19 at a local Walmart. I'm sure I don't get all the kief but I do just fine with the plastic cover that goes over the spinning mechanism of the grinder and a guitar pick.... Just my way
