How many vaporizers are too many?

I know I probably shouldn't be asking this question on a vaporizer-enthusiastic website (:worms:) but im just curious.
I currently own the Solo and am looking to add the Air to my collection.

I see a lot of fellow posters on here with lots of vaporizers. Not dissing anyone on here for that (I'm actually a little jealous in that department :D)

But I'm curious to ask you guys, in your opinion, how many vaporizers are too many?

In my opinion, I don't see myself owning more than like 4 or 5. I think that's reasonable. Once it hits like 7+ I just don't see any practical use for having all of those. (Well maybe one for each day of the week if its 7 haha)

Again its just my opinion. Don't intend to offend any vaporizer enthusiasts on here who own like 40 vaporizers. Just want to hear what you guys think that's all.

I'm not the biggest vaporizer enthusiast, at least not yet, but I do appreciate these wonderful devices that get me nice and baked. :leaf::science:

for me it's not the number, but if it fits a niche. at home I have my underdog, wich works so well for me I can't justify getting another desktop vape. if I really want to I could get a heavy hitter to impress friends, but honestly, I wouldn't use it much if I would get it, I think.

for portables I was less setled, but I think my arizer air has now pretty much filled that too. started with a vaporgenie, worked great and I still sometimes use it(not much, but when I want to vape hash, and it needs to be portable, the vaporgenie is perfect), but I couldn't easily pass it to people not familliar with it.
then I got a da vinci. again great, but one charge only lasts so long, and I often transitioned to joints later in the evening. so therefor I could justify getting the arizer air, since it has a replacable battery, and so it fits the situation where I couldn't vape yet. and now I have it it also created some new situations(like now, just home from the bar, underdog is not on so it would need to heat up, the air can give it me now, and I don't know how long I'm going to be awake anyway, so I just leave the underdog turned off)

ofcourse there are also plenty of new interesting vaporizers where I just want them to try them out, and to have a new gadget, and if I had enough money I would buy them all, but since I have to choose, my decision is based on if I will use them regularly, and if there is a situation where a new vaporizer could bring a big improvement.

and if you don't like an older vaporizer going unused, you can always pass them along to friends.

That is a good question. It will differ from user to user. But here is why I own a few vaporizers. I have a few different portables. One is my main driver. Lily, while my Vapman is my ultra-stealth(hiking) vape. I like to have to well functioning back up as well. This is where the Hammer Pro comes in. While the flavor is not as good to me as the aforementioned, it has been solid for when my hands/eyes are bothering me. Then in situations where it makes sense for battery operated vapes, where silence is key I use those. I also like to have back up(s) as these can be reliable but tend to eventually fail either the vaporizer itself or the battery. Then the butes/back up come back into play. As for home units, they again are reliable but also can eventually fail due to electronic/ other problems. These also can have high maintenance cost at times. Purchasing replacement parts ie. Whips, bags, glass etc. So I have a few that way say if I need bags and can't replace them for any reason I can switch vapes. In the unfortunate event of your vaporizer failing, hopefully it has a good warranty with better customer support. Then while they are being repaired you won't go without a vape.Also there is a school of thought that by using diffrent vaporizers keep you tolerance guessing by not allowing it to become accustomed to a single "vape signature." Each one of my vapes holds a specific place for me. Welcome to FC @foonaciousd14 hope this help alittle at least from my perspective for having a few. But in reality all you need is the amount that works for your individual situation. But I'm in the more the better club. So I could be bias. :tup:

Interesting point you make about keeping your tolerance guessing.
Coming from someone who is essentially a lightweight and will be easily baked off of one bowl for a couple of hours, I have noticed that as of late, the effects are starting to become slightly more "subtle" Which I actually enjoy because the Pineapple Express I have can be a very energetic high. I feel like a higher temps with my solo it can kinda mellow out the strain a little if that makes any sense.

Anyways, your point is interesting because not every vaporizer is the same. Different methods of heating, different bowl sizes, different ways to ingest (whips, bags, stems, etc.)

Part of it makes me curious to experiment with different ones. Unfortunately it is an expensive endeavor. That being said, I'd definitely like to purchase a couple more vaporizers and switch off to the next one when i get bored haha.

I agree with the niche approach., and these are the niches that I think need to be filled: One heavy hitting wide-open desktop and one desktop that conserves well (both with glass bubblers), one at home concentrate vaporizer, one instant-on one hitter vaporizer for home, one on the go concentrate vaporizer, one bag vaporizer (for groups), one session portable and one stealthy one-hit, instant on portable.

Same approach here! I have gone through a series of vapes to get where I like. I have a heavy home unit in the Minivap, an awesome stealth vape in the INHS, and a great 'pick it up and go' in the Heat Island. But I do have a cupboard full of others that I used and swapped out of rotation for some reason or another. A buddy is having some issues and is just getting on MMJ, so my EQ is getting boxed up and sent to him, and I'm sure he'll use it until he decides to start looking for something a bit more, umm, intangible 'something' that everyone searches for :)

The one you can't afford is the vape too far.
You are growing up with your parents and live with them.
College comes and a shared apartment with buddies is your habitat.
A sig other comes along and small apt is where you hang your hat.
Baby? Another room. Perhaps a house in burbs.
Kids go to school so a smaller house for less maintenance.
Old folks home for final domicile.
Which one was the right one? H: All of the above.
Vapes are the same way. You don't know the right questions to ask at first but as you get your feet wet you will form opinions and desires. Your journey is yours. I can only describe mine.

I have 5 right now. Every time I get up to about 5-6 I sell one or two off because I'm not really into collecting or keeping a bunch of batteries charged/ac adapters organized. There usually is a "best" for my needs, depending whether I'm at home, on the go or somewhere in between. When I have't used something for a few months and its usefulness has been surpassed by another is usually when I'll get rid of it or give it to a friend.

It's too many when you don't use them. For a while I was hoarding vapes. Then one day I looked down and saw I only used a few of them. Best thing I ever did was give them to Uncle Vitolo's Pay-it-Forward Program. Unless I am testing units, I don't like to have more than seven or eight vapes because for me, that's when some are sitting idle and could be used by someone who really has a need.

This topic is one I had a conversation with stickstones, because he is now my go-to retailer with questions about vapes. I believe I have around 10-15 vapes and will be donating some to uncle vitolo's program. There are a few I can give away without much care because other vape fills that need or its collecting dust. But at the same time, it is really hard to give up some because there was so much time you spent learning the device and that builds a connection. Just some thoughts and ramblings in my head

For me...one or two portables for the bedroom. One powerful desktop for the living room. At least two stealthy vapes for out of the house.

As others said, more than that and they just gather dust. That's the "too many" line for me. (If you find yourself needing, and not having, a vape that's optimal for a certain situation...that would be "too few". :p)

I am struggling with this very question... One desktop, one session portable, one stealth portable, and a one hitter....is ideal, but I've gone waaaay beyond that as the wife keeps reminding
