I have found UV screw top jars to be the best!

I sometimes question plastics off gassing etc or fibrous grind rubbing closely then inhaled...if it is a safe plastic then any possible contamination accumulation would be from jogging or movement where the herb is constantly bouncing around in there... usually if you start seeing scratch marks you will know it but sticky cannabis starts to make its own coating after a while which buffers herb from touching plastic

@vapenerd I find that I lose some terps when I do that. Very convenient for small amounts, with say, a Vapcap however.

A grower told me to put it in Mason Jars in the freezer.

I did so, and removed one recently that had sat for several years, and it is not only the same as when I froze it, it's also better than what the local dispensary is offering.

So, there might be some theoretical reason for the "freezing is bad" viewpoint, but IRL it works very well.
