How I conserve weed with my vape (10+ highs per 0.1g)

I think the idea is the lungs absorb only a certain amount of oxygen and/or vapor up to about 5 seconds. they've absorbed enough at that point and need new fresh oxygen to re activate absorption receptors. this is the benefit of re breathing to re activate receptors once the lungs have taken in all they are going to take in. I typically re breathe about three times some times if the vapor is smooth...

Unless I am misunderstanding you, I don't think that is quite correct, otherwise we'd have a lot of trouble holding our breath for longer than 5 seconds!

O2 and CO2, in particular, travel across a concentration (or pressure) gradient to get from lungs to blood and vice versa, respextively. You don't need "fresh" oxygen, O2 that is still in your lung cavity doesnt go bad or anything like that, it is still there and will eventually be absorbed. Increasing hemoglobin, improving one's metabolism, and a few other things can allow one to hold one's breath for longer, again the air in the lungs does not expire or anything of the sort!

Oxygen binds to hemoglobin in the red blood cells, those receptors can certainly get saturated but just as quickly as it binds is it used in aerobic respiration (to generate ATP, aka energy for cells).

On a side note, our bodies have systems to respond to low levels of oxygen as well as high AND low levels of carbon dioxide in our blood (too little CO2 can induce alkalosis, which is very undesirable).

Anything beyond a shallow look into how human respiration and cellular respiration work is waaaaay beyond the scope of the question @juneshayek originally asked but I really, really encourage you guys to look online or elsewhere to learn more about this, there is a bit of misinformation flowing in this beloved forum!

Fellow vapor brother
I'm cheap as well. 2 grams lasts me a week and a half. But to be honest, my gf made the decision that we needed to cut down on consumption. I also vape through my Can. Smaller glass bowl wins. But when I'm done with the ABV from the can, I put a big payload into the Vapir Rise and bag her up. Saves me some weed. Also, welcome to FC. :)

I hear you brother. still though, the lungs absorb the most oxygen the first five secs ( we are not meant to hold our breath, the lung is at ready and is ready again five seconds later- about the time it takes to breathe normally). our lungs are simply not set up for extremes like you mention.... they are for quick air bursts as derived from norml everyday breathing. As a side not- I learned some breathing practices from Andrew Weil years ago that is awesome and increases oxygen. just long slow drawn out breaths that fill the lungs amap ( as much as possible)... now, breathing that way on the norm would set the lungs up for extremes like you mentioned but everyday people not so much.

My lady keeps me in line, good to listen to the women if you know what I mean :)

as a potency test you can use your left over AbV after having used it twice already and try an edible treat, bet there's activity (actives) in there if you use enough..

C No Ego,
Look at Firefly 2 or Grasshopper

If the FM is capable of getting him uncomfortably stoned with such miniscule hits then a high powered convection unit may be too intense.. I mean going from vaping the same bowl for up to 15 sessions to a vaporizer capable of extracting .05+ in one massive hit is pretty extreme, I'm sure it'll raise his tolerance at the very least.

I am interested to hear OP's experiences with other vaporizers if there are any! I try to be frugal with my usage (and I really am compared to my combustion days!) but still generally use .5-1g daily. No revaping for me 99% of the time my vapes get the job done first go, but I'm typically using on demand convection units at high temps.

OK, guys, finally, after a week of experimenting, I can confirm that re-breathing gets me 30% higher than just holding it in for a minute!

Below is the data. Just sucks that I can't seem to create a proper table.. But put in writing, whereas 0.1g of bad weed got me high 5 times before, it now gets me high 6.5 times. 0.1g of good weed would get me high 13 times, and now gets me high 17 times!

Table: Number of highs off 0.1g of specified type of weed:

Method 10-second-hold 60-second-hold rebreathing (7x)
schwag 2.5 5 6.5
dank ? 13 17

I've been vaping now for three months, during which I've been high 178 times off 2.92 grams in total. I'm pretty mindblown my how little weed it actually takes to get blazed. It may just be my low tolerance, but I think I've nailed a technique which is effective and thought I'd share. This is my first post, so go easy :)

These are some principles which I adhere to while vaping:
1) Vaping the same bowl over multiple sessions (up to 15 sessions)
2) Taking very slow and drawn out hits
3) Keep hitting the vape until the weed has cooled (after turning off vape)
4) Keeping the vapor in my lungs for as long as possible (at least 1 minute)
5) Only doing a single hit per session

Following this method I can get high up to 15 times off 0.1g of quality bud, or up to 5 times per 0.1 g of low grade weed (which is what I mostly vape).

I'm using a flowermate, and the bowl holds up to 0.15g if you pack it loosely, or 0.3g tightly. I'll normally pack around 0.1g, so it's loose and I don't fill it completely.

Here's how I do it in practice:
With dank, on the first session, I turn on the vape until it reaches 200 C and then turn it off immediately. I then take a long, slow 30 second hit. 30 seconds because otherwise the weed will not have cooled down enough for all vapor to have been used up. Slow because otherwise some weed will fly up and stick to the grille on the underside of the mouthpiece obstructing air flow and in turn wasting vapor, turning it into gunk instead.

After the 30 second slow hit I take my mouth off the vape and inhale fully. I then wait for at least a minute before exhaling. Holding it in like that in my experience makes a major difference, despite science telling us it shouldn't. A full minute will get me twice as high as only 10 seconds.

I then wait 15 minutes to gauge the effect, and usually that single hit will be enough to keep my high for a couple of hours.

Then for the next session, I turn on the vape, wait till it's warmed up and start hitting for 5 seconds before I turn it off again while I keep hitting for another 30 seconds. Remember, go slow for max efficiency.

The next few sessions after that, I increase it to 10 seconds before turning off, but remember to keep hitting for another 30 while it's off. Over the next 10 sessions, I gradually increase the amount of time the vape is on while hitting, and when the weed is almost spent and I'm at 30 seconds while on (and of course another 30 while off, and then holding it in for a minute, right?). Finally, before emptying the bowl, I do one or two more 30 second sessions at 210 C.

For lower grade weed, I start out with 10 seconds turned on (instead of 0) and over just a few sessions, I already reach 30 seconds turned on, at which point the weed is spent.

Again I may just have low tolerance/high sensitivity, but I think it's at least worth a trying this the next time you pack a new bowl! Let me know how it goes or what you think about this!
15 times for one bowl ? Mine is spent after first session lol
