How does Wispr compare to home vaporizers(like DBV, SSV or HerbalAire)

Hello,

I currently have a MFLB and Alivi8. I am happy so far with them.
(except: MFLB- batteries are such an unreliable source of energy, they get dead when u need them most
Alivi8- I still overcook the herbs sometimes since the vapor is quite cold (mostly a good thing since it spares the lungs)).
(I really hope the VaporGenie people don't come here to rage aggressively over patents)

Since I want a vaporizer that hits harder I thought of buying DBV or HerbalAire 2.1.
But I couldn't decide on this- I like DBV's simplicity and clean design, yet I like HerbalAire's engineering, most notably that the hot air doesn't come from a single hole.

But I also like to travel a lot and often there is no electricity where I go (mountains etc) this made me thinking of buying also Wispr to test it out.

Can anyone who tried both Wispr and DBV/HerbalAire/SSV tell me how is the hit and make a brief comparison (Wispr vs DBV/HerbalAire/SSV)?

Can the Wispr replace these home vaporizers?

How do the DBV and HerbalAire compare with each other - why would I choose one over the other?

Thanks in advance :)

Edit: Forgot to mention that I don't like vaping alone, the vaporizer must have the capacity to help 2-5 people rediscover the sky.

If you get a solid home unit, you can charge your batts when at home and use your MFLB outside. I have iolite and MFLB and like MFLB much more, beacause of its stealth, size, power and speed.

DBV is whip only. Could be as good as SSV for a whip that is top notch.

I see HA as an ultimate nonexpensive bag blower if you invest a little more to a high output pump. Makes great efficient bags and with that pump makes them also fast. It can be also used as a whip vape.

How high in the mountains? The Iolite & Wispr won't work on high altitude.

Have you looked at the Arizer Solo? Perhaps that one would work if you have a car to charge it from. If you're not in a rush you could also have a look at the Mi- and ViVape, they should come out in a month or so. Not much is known about them yet, but one of them seems to be rivaling the Solo as a portable battery charged unit.

The 7th Floor vapes (and most whip models) are much better than the HA in 'out of the box' whip mode. The HA should be considered only if you plan to use both bags and direct draw. It'll certainly deliver the vapor in whip mode, but the hits won't have the high vapor/air ratio that a whip only model usually delivers. I own all these vapes, except the DBV, which I have used quite a bit in the past, and even the wispr packs more of a punch than the HA.

You can certainly use the wispr as your only vape, although taste wise, it doesn't measure up to the others. I use it as a portable only, and wouldn't consider it for home vaping unless I really needed/wanted a portable and could only afford one vape. Even then, I'd rather get the cheaper iolite and take the rest of the $, go to eBay, and get a $100 Vapolution, which has an all glass air path to the tubing, and it's glass all the way if you get the optional, 8" AIW bowl.

I really hope the VaporGenie people don't come here to rage aggressively over patents
I wouldn't worry about that. But I would worry about the metal filter the Alivi8 uses.

Please skip to green if you don't like reading :)

I go in mountains without my car ~1500m height (~1640 yards).
Which is quite close to the 1600m mark until which butane works, which might cause me troubles with the Wispr.

The plastic of Arizer Solo seems a little bit cheap to me (especially the buttons, like one of these Chinese radios from the pre-iPod past).

I looked for the supreme when I wanted to buy my first vaporizer, but I don't like it's design - it seems to me that the metal block will remain hot for a very long time.

I have the problem now that while MFLB is ninja, it's a pain to be used by 4 people
and with the Alivi8 the problem is that when there's a newcomer in 99% of the cases it means overcooking, which means bad taste until a long cleaning so now I want a friendly to use device.

I am willing to buy both a home device and a new portable, I was just curios if I can buy only Wispr.

Ok so for home vaporizer HA is out, I don't really like the bag thing. As for the SSV it is ~60 EUR (~80 USD) more than DBV and other than the angle I really don't see any difference.

Both viVape and miVape have just plain epic design and I can see myself buying miVape the moment vaposhop gets their hands on them, my only concerns are how does the plastic feel, if it's iPhone 4ish it's a sure buy for me even if it doesn't hit that good.

If we exclude the taste problems of the Wispr, is the hit as good as DBV and SSV and isn't the lack of temperature control an issue?

There's a difference in both ergonomics and the hits. While the hands free DBV connection works fine, I found that I had to be conscious of the connected whip and be careful to avoid jerking it out. It's just something that you have to get used to. The hands free heater cover also provides a much wider opening for air flow, making DBV hits a little less rich but more predictable and generally smoother. If you blindfold me and stick the two whips in my mouth, one at a time, I can tell which vape is which, from the hits.

I don't know that I'd even call the taste issue a problem unless 'taste enjoyment' is a priority for you. The wispr hits are not as full and predictable as with a good home whip unit, although air flow is good and I would rate the hits good for a portable. It gets hotter after it's been on a while, and gets to a point where it'll produce a hit that's so thick that I can't even handle it. It's similar to a high temp hit on my SSV, but even harder to handle and less predictable. The iolite does this too, to an extent, but the change they made to the wispr, to provide thicker hits, makes it kick like a mule near the end. Although it's not variable temp, it's obvious that the temp does rise, due to ambiant heat in the bowl, if nothing else. I find the ABV from both the ioite and wispr to be a uniform brown, and darker than you might suspect, especially with the wispr. There's no doubt in my mind that my wispr gets hotter than the iolite. So the wispr will do the job, even better than you may think for a so called fixed temp vape, but it's certainly not as good as a quality home whip vape, as far as an enjoyable vaping experience, although I think you can smooth out the wispr's wrinkles if you're careful with your hits. And I'm sure that it gets easier, the more you use it, just like you get used to being careful with the DBV's wand while connected.

If you're considering the DBV and need a 220V version, I'd recommend their eBay store, where the price is $130, and you get the full 3 yr. warranty. 7th Floor sales

I guess I will go for the SSV, but ouch there's a price difference between US and Europe..
Here the silver is 220 EUR (303 USD) compared to 137 EUR (190 USD) in the US.
The other colors are 260 EUR (360 USD) (vaposhop).

Hmm I would rather go with the light saber if i'm gonna pay that much - 225 EUR (310 USD) too bad vaposhop doesn't have it, I hope that "lacentralevapeur" being listed here are reliable

U're a bad person max, I just ordered my LSV :) from a french site that doesn't even have english translation and I completely trusted google translate on the buttons I clicked :)

Just order one from the link Max posted. The blemishes are usually hardly noticeable, you just have to order the bag separately if you want it (I recommend it, it's really nice). It's where I got mine.

There will be a 12,50 customs fee (inklaringskosten) and another 16,72 euro's for taxes. That's how much it was for mine anyway. The tax costs were so low because 7thfloor declared a value of 88 euro's for some reason (I didn't ask for that). Mine got here within 3 weeks even around Christmas.

edit: just noticed the rest of your post, lol.

Never mind then, congrats with your LSV

Lacentralevapeur is safe btw, it's a new shop from a member here and I'm sure he'll take good care of you.

They should have an English version of their website up soon, perhaps there will even be a dutch version eventually!

Companies declare lower values so that u pay less taxes.
And it's easy with vaporizers, because customs have no idea of the real value, but last year I had a really tough time explaining how does my Sony DSLR cost 60 EUR :)

Taxes aren't my problem, I don't know how it is in the normal countries, but here it takes half day of waiting to get your goods which I rather spend elsewhere

They should have an English version of their website up soon
:) I hope so, because until then the site and emails they send me, before google translate, look to me like this:

Sorry for the spam, but :)

Thanks to everyone at Lacentralevapeur,
had doubts since I haven't used the site and more importantly didn't understand French, but at the end it turned out great. Congratulations on the fast response, everything went smoothly, I wish you all the best with the site.

As for the vaporizer it's absolutely gorgeous, starting from the bag itself..
I haven't used it yet, but my first impressions from its build quality are only good.

Thanks for the tips on which vaporizer to get.
