cold water>hot water> no water

Id agree, after vaping through cold water and ice vs. warm water, i noticed stronger effects when using warm, leading to the assumption that more vapor reaches your lung uncondensed.

Tried this and it works. I was surprised this did work. I had a bad experience when i was teenager. I was at a friends house and she offered me a bong hit (from a old Graffix Bong) and so i took a huge toke off of it and.....WTF she had scalding hot water in there and that shit burned my whole respiratory system so i never used hot water. well 15 years later i come across this post and viola it works well. trick is not use BOILING water.

^^ Yup..........too hot is NOT good, which is the reason that I suggest to only use hot tap water and not water heated up by any other means.

I love this hot water method... have been doing it since this thread started...

the downside is constantly replacing the water with hot water....it cools down in minutes

oh well....

I enjoy using hot water with a drop of peppermint oil to add a smooth, cooling sensation much like menthol.

Sublimation,
I just passed my vapor through a bong with freshly brewed hot oolong tea. I can report that it was quite pleasant, and it Definitely got me vaped.:brow:. I used my purple days vape(black walnut), just in case you're wondering.

SmokingElectricity,
I have been trying first going through pretty hot water that I get from my Keuhrig with no cup in there. Then running it through cold/iced water. I liked the stronger hits with hot water but still prefred the cooler hits so figured I'd give this a try.

Only been able to test out two times but I think I like it a little more than just straight warm or hot water. Will try out a few more sessions. Still seem to get the more intense high (but maybe slightly less, definitely stronger than same hits through just cold water) along with the cooler hit. Just curious if anyone else has tried this?

Im using the aromed and put the hot water in the aromeds water filter bowl. Then run that to a 4 arm percolator with the cold water.

Dear FC,

This is my first post and I just got a DBV, and now thanks to this thread I want to try hot water bonging :brow:...only problem is no bong :uhoh:. I saw that HVY mini beaker and EHLE 250ml, as well as the ssfg travel beaker have been mentioned a lot....

My main concern is that I have STRONG lungs and can hold a helluva lot of vapor, would a travel-sized bong be good for my personal use, or would going a little bigger be better for a daily driver? any advice would be appreciated...

...and thanks to everyone for all of the good tips and advice. A LOT of lurkers have made educated purchases based on YOUR recommendations :)

if you have strong lungs you want a non-airy hit with high vapor:air ratio.

a DBV with a short whip & a small bong would definitely work great for that

I just got a 12in RX industries tube that i am loving, highly recommend.

you want a smaller tube, and it wont prevent you from getting a large hit. the thing will milk faster than a large tube, then you can just keep hitting it once it milked for as long as you need to fill your lungs (if thats what your personally out for) and then clear it. i think any of the tubes you mentioned would be good for with the DBV, easy to manipulate with one hand leaving the other free to mess with bowl. i used a huge 28" bong and love my 12" ehle 250ml much better, or a bubbler is nice too. either way, small wins for vapor IMO.

but back to the topic, i'm kinda just sitting content with room temp water these days. used to be all into icing thing up real cold, but not anymore. tried hot water and its cool, sometimes it feels nice, like breathing in the damp air after a hot shower.

Oh man, I've tried this years ago when I was only combusting... definitely going to hit this up through my vape now!

VaporNation,
Thanks for the info guys, I will definitely be on the lookout for 12" and under glass 'ornaments' and will post a thread once I make a decision...

I did vape through a diy mason jar bong with hot water and I really was surprised, very pleasant! I used to love ice, but the chest expansion really does feel minimal with hot water and since we are dealing with vapor...no need to cool it down much. I think good diffusion is key, though, and my plain brass tube is....bleh.

Probably will go with a cheap mini bong but get a nice Andy k shower head for it :D

Indeed, good diffusion is a concern with water and this contributes to the cost quite significantly.

Fog from a Mist Maker is much more affordable as it doesn't require any, which simplifies maintenance a great deal too. No money to make there!!!

So... DON'T try it! Don't even whisper there might be a possibility: guys, you might choke, fall to the ground and die right on the spot! Who knows!...

I've begin to do when I noticed this thread 2 days ago.
But, if we are fans of these technical toys. We just need an electric bong that heats the water continuously :D (you know, that one with temperature control knob and lcd display lol)

I also think this is stronger. The hot water is moisturizing vapors more and maybe it's boosting lung absorption too.

Perhaps i should try English, euh...

Oh, but i AM using English!

Fog does a better job and is nicer to look at.

You don't wash your cannabis vapor, you simply manage with the irritating components in it...

Hummm... What's the correct Emoticon here?

Ah, there! :horse:

Yep! That's the one all right!!!

Beaten horse...

My bad, I didn't think you were serious at first
Pics of your setup would be great.... the way I picture it is using a Y adapter with a valve to control the amount of mist mixing w/vapor... as for the hot water part goes, just drill a hole in the top of the Mist Maker and insert a 100watt aquarium heater, then seal her back up with Window&Door silicone (no anti-mildew chemicals in that one) :2c: :2c: :2c:

My bad i did mean what i wrote, seriously: i imagined it, i built it, i used it and i also mentioned it on this board quite a few times... But nobody is listening. Would you like me to start a thread based on it too or will you get the picture if i re-post one - the same old one - again?

You don't have to control anything really, the mist stays in the upper champer of a bong and this generates an imperceptible positive pressure inside which appears to prevent vapor flow coming from the bag without the help of a valve: cannabis vapor doesn't leave the bag and fog stays in the bong (until inhalation begins that is!); this whole simple contraption implements the valve action inherently, as a result of its structure i would say. Any bong will do, provided that the Mist Maker "hockey-puck" like module can get inside actually... I havent seen a suitable conventional bong yet but i'm looking, this is the prototype:

33m6b68.jpg

I tested fog filtering on harsh (read "BAD TASTING", yuk!) ABV and this rendered inhalation manageable. Perhaps i need to explain something to you, i presume: i'm a former hashish smoker who was forced to quit the habit around 2007 because of the severe caughing my old favourite habit was causing. I didn't think there would be THC in my environment again, then vaporization gave me access to that again in February this year.

Do you need a review relative to fog filtering as well? Here it is: don't try it if you like, the loss is all yours!

:peace:

I suggest to only use hot tap water and not water heated up by any other means.

Hot water from the tap can contain toxic chemicals leached from the pipes

It is not recommended to use hot tap water for cooking or ingesting

I posted this in this thread before with citation.

Steam from the hot water, being inhaled seems to me to be just as bad as drinking it if not worse since its going into your lungs

Microwave or heat the water on the stove first, not hot from the tap

And just add some cool tap water to bring to the right temp, testing on your wrist like a momma does heated milk...

^^ Yeah, I'm a bit concerned about that too, but I'm too fucking lazy to heat up the water and then test it to see that it's not too hot.

Alright, continue to ignore me. My weird fog thing has got a thread of it's own now:

Mist Maker generated Fog in 3-way convertible Water Toy

Since that turns out to be absolutely necessary...

I created it only a few minutes ago, for the other readers convenience.

It's about water vapor but yet it doesn't seem to fit here somehow so what else can i do?!!

Please enjoy!

OK I tried this hot water method. Hot water straight from the tap. 13 inch beaker coupled to a SSV.

Wow, felt like I was just inhaling warm, moist air!

Looks like I have a few useless ice notches on my water filter!

Never would have thought of using hot water. Thanks for the idea.

I've thought about doing hot water + ice, but in the end isn't it still just going to be the same as an ice hit?

Personally I like using hot water/ice just depending on my mood. I personally haven't felt a significant difference in medicated effects, but it is definitely a different hit/experience overall, which is why I enjoy bouncing between the two.

With cold water, I can take hits without any irritation whatsoever or even feeling the vapor, and then be completely baked later on. With hot water, I can feel the vapor very distinctly and it can give a very soothing and rich tasting hit. Hot water hits do irritate my sinuses sometimes, but the experience is worth it.

I may be a skeptic when people say that using warm or cold water makes them significantly more high than the other, though..

I'm gonna try that hot water + ice trick now o.O
