Hey All, its been a bit since I've done an update. Fortunately I have some new stuff to share!

First, I am extremely happy to announce that my spiral stems are now listed on the Azzwood Customs website! We also did a limited number of collab stems where he made the mouthpiece. They turned out absolutely beautiful!!

I also had a custom request for a glass mouthpiece and downstrem for the polar blast. Nailed it!

Its exciting to show off these new spiral stems too. I have been doing R&D on a few different varieties. So far I have made them attached to a glass MP, welded in the stem, and free floating as a "build your own" stem design. I recently sent @nicknobody a colored spiral that he has been using in his log vape stem. I like the idea of offering things like this that you guys can drop into other stems. The new spirals will fit inside 12mm ID. I have been using the welded in spiral, these new spirals definitely offer the best cooling out of anything I've come up with so far.

Oh and I finally settled on a logo!

angus enhanced has same 12mm od hole size as arizer, and hr rogue, potv one.

@Hookahhead_MD
btw - you could make a universal cooling stem to fit any portable electric/battery vape's 14mm wpa attachment, too. i'd buy one if good and promote as well.

i have not found a way to do business with you. no website yet? i do not do Facebook, twitter, twitch, and other social media website clubs except this fc and reditt. how can we do a buying product thing?

Yeah vgoodiez.com carries my stuff here in the US, and now Azzwood in the UK. I had an Etsy but got kicked off because they consider my gear paraphernalia. Unfortunately since I’m only a hobby glassblower, it doesn’t make financial sense for me to run a full blown website currently. If you message me here or on Reddit I am happy to work through an order with you. I use PayPal or Venmo for transactions, both offer buyer protection.

Honestly this thread has the most info about stuff that I make. If you see a piece that is no longer available I am happy to remake it for you. I don’t have an angus myself, so I haven’t made anything particular for it and likely won’t without specific requests. I do have plenty of 12mm tubing and happy to try and make it whatever you’re thinking.

Yeah everything he's done and ever had available is here in this thread, and you already had a discussion with him about AngusE stems in here too pretty sure...?

I just thought I would post as I managed to grab one of the Azzwood collab stems for my purple heart tinymight.

I went for the deep blue spiral with a blue mango wood mouthpiece and a second purple heart mouthpiece. To complete the Iook I also asked him to make me a matching stir tool and oven cover in the blue mango and purple heart.

I only paid for all of this yesterday so I'm still waiting on delivery but I will post pics once I get it all.

Hey there, somehow a bunch of time has slipped by again. I didn't get many opportunities to blow glass in July, but I was finally able to make it in the past 2 weekends. Thanks for looking!

I had some recent requests so I made a few more Dynavap spoons.

I made these 2 WPAs for the TM. The customer requested glass screens, I think they turned out really nice.

Thank you hookahheadmd. Your art has seriously improved the function of my devices. Such a pleasure to sip through tasty glass intercoolers.

I have been working on these new spiral stems. I made some of the standard ones with shaped mouthpieces the week before. I made a dozen economy style last week that I'll post photos of soon.

Also I wanted to announce that I will be doing a free, live glassblowing steam on the Artisan Stage of the EntExchange Discord Server this Sunday at 6pm EDT. I will make one of my octopus DynaVap adapters and then give it away at the end.

Hey all, its time for a bit of an update on what I've been up to!

We have a new shipment heading to vgoodiez this week. It will have a small restock of some of my triple Maria WPAs. This time I made sure to thicken the tip area so that they hold the heavier WPAs like TA and Anvil much more secure. I also made an 18mm triple Maria for a member here :).

I am also sending some of my new "Triangle Twist" stems that I have been working on. For this batch I have reduced the proportions back to what I made the daisy stems, (3.5 inch long with 2.5 inch intercooler). I have also left both ends open now that TinyMight is shipping with glass MP and a few makers are making wooden ones too. These spirals are thicker than the colored spirals, so the airflow is a bit more restricted but cooling is also much better. I have really been enjoying using mine daily.

I am still playing with the removable spirals and have made a few 2.5 inch and 1.5 inch long pieces for R&D. If you're interested in testing something like this out please let me know!

nll6zaidusnd1

And I finally returned to making a few TM Sherlock stems. I am not sure if I will weld the new Triangle Twist into these or use these removable ones. As always feel free to give me your feedback!

When you say that the WPAs are thicker at the tip, do you mean that the vape heads wobble less in the tip end? I have 2 of the triple Maria WPAs, one 14mm, one 18mm, and I use them with the TA3 and the Tempest. I bought both from @VGOODIEZ . Neither fit snugly into the WPA. I cannot for example, move the hot Tempest across the top of the Reload in order to get it into the slot to uncap it; the Tempest just pops out of the WPA. If I do manage to get it where the bowl can be unscrewed often the entire head just turns in the glass and does not unscrew. This is also true with the TA3 and it's a problem with both WPAs. They're lovely but I am somewhat disappointed.

Yes, that is exactly what he was saying above... Did you not know the originals would fit loose when you got them? I was told before ordering... Maybe you can swap out now?? or can work something out???

Yes, I have thickened the tip area so that they grip the heavier TEDs a bit more secure now (engages with all of the orings) With that said, unfortunately you still may have an issue untwisting your caps still with this change. The issue is that getting the perfect 8mm fit with glass is pretty challenging, the slightest bit too tight and the glass will give out before the metal stud. The orings on these devices barely stick out past the post, I really wish the makers would give a bit more “wiggle room” to work with. For orders directly from me, I always include orings that are 0.1mm (8x6x1.1mm) larger than the original Dynavap orings. Please DM me your shipping address and I’ll send you out a few through snail mail to try.

How was I supposed to know this beforehand? Here's the description of them from @VGOODIEZ site where I bought them:
Handmade in the Mid-Atlantic United States! This 8mm adapter can be used to as a WPA for a Thermal Accumulator (pictured, but not included in sale, Dynavap tip and cap, Vaphit heater or other similar solution. 14mm Male to mate with your 14mm female waterpipe.

Made by hand so please expect some small variation.
Please show me where I was "told" that that was the case. As a matter of fact, the copy specifically mentions use with a TA, but says nothing of any issues with the fit.

Agreed. It may have come up on this thread, or some other social media, but I had no idea when I ordered one from @VGOODIEZ. It's beautiful, and I want to love it, but it's not usable in the context of the tempest/reload workflow. I also tried it with DVs and a Vestratto USA, and it's not much better. I sympathize with @Hookahhead_MD about the exactitude of manufacturing tolerances, but I do have glass WPAs, and a glass Revolve stem, which hold tight. Compounding the fitment issue, mine isn't level at the top, so the tip sits crooked if it's installed completely, further decreasing the orings' hold.

I'll probably try again with the improved version. Like I said, I really want to love it; I prefer pieces by individual artisans specifically because, as it does say on the Vgoodiez listing, "Made by hand so please expect some small variation." I just hope those variations won't affect function.

There is no way that I am paying for the same items again because they didn't work right the first time.

Anyone who has a similar issue please reach out to me through DM so that I can help address it. I am happy to send anyone a few orings to try, or reshape your tip if you send it back to me.

I am guessing the glass pieces you have are clear? Tubing that is 12x2mm should have an 8mm inner diameter, which is why all the pieces you see are just straight clear tube (including the WPAs). I’ve tried to do similar with the triple maria, unfortunately the colored tubing the WPAs are made on are not exactly 12x2… some colors are slightly larger, some slightly smaller and some may vary both ways for the same color. Glass just doesn’t have the same precise tolerances that metal or wood have, and any adjustments need to be done when the glass is hot enough to be soft. I do test every single tip/stem before I send to Vgoodiez… but there is a ton of differences in just Dynavap tips alone, some have 2 orings others have 3.. the helix tip seems to be slightly smaller diameter than the rest. The post on the TA is terrible in my opinion, only 2 orings that don’t stick out very far and it is not rounded on the tip, so it can be very rough on the glass.

I try to be as transparent as possible about my work. These are the best tools I've found that I am currently using to get the fitment right by hand, so you can see it's not some kind of precise machinery. I spend at least 5-15 minutes just fiddling with each tip to try to get the fit right. This is how the raw joints come, typically a 8mm tip will not fit directly into them (either too large or too small)

gxfgww9fstnd1
1tycqxlartnd1

That said, I have made hundreds of WPAs at this point. I am usually able to get the fit right, and hope that these are only a few isolated cases. Most of my work with the WPA has been with Dynavap in mind, and these heavier TEDs have definitely been a challenge. This issue is also why you don't see other glass artists making WPAs like I do.

jtstcojartnd1
n6khlpjartnd1

Since everything is hand made, there is definitely variation from piece to piece as you can see it in this photo. However I do expect that the pieces work as intended, I certainly don't want anyone dropping a hot tip on their lap, couch, carpet etc.

You are correct, and thanks for the detailed explanation! Add to the list of why I love supporting artisan makers: the willingness to improve and support their creations, even when dealing with pain-in-the-ass customers.

And I only got a minor burn, mostly my fault, so I'm glad to give it another go. I'll move to DM.

Thanks!

So sorry by my wording choice, I was literally just asking for the clarity, did not realize that you bought them from there without any direct communication or anything before

Please show me where I was "told" that that was the case. As a matter of fact, the copy specifically mentions use with a TA, but says nothing of any issues with the fit.

Yes I think it was a private message, when I was speaking to hookahhead directly here about my order, I had asked about those DV stem WPA options for TA, was told they might fit loose depending on the color and style... Again sorry for my wording choice, did not mean to set you off! Yes vgoodiez should disclose that information if they are advertising them as TA compatible imo

Agreed. It may have come up on this thread, or some other social media, but I had no idea when I ordered one from @VGOODIEZ

Yeah I don't know if it had come up here before, but now it has so everyone will know! As suspected, he will take care of anyone that has issues, yes benefits of some nice artisan workers at least it can be...

I must have gotten lucky. Ordered my wpa from goodiez in May and the TA fits super snug in there.

Yeah depending on colors and other variables, it could always be a crapshoot what will fit well or not when you are dealing with glass, particularly non-standard pieces like these... I have a similar stem from China that I am shocked how well it fits my TA so I did not get one from HH yet anyway

Just wanted to say thanks for recognizing this. I am happy to be making pieces for the vape community, and direct feedback / reworking ideas is one of the advantages I have over the mass produced stuff. As I said in my first post here, I got back into blowing glass specifically because I wasn’t happy with the WPAs that were available and I wanted something better. 2 years later I’m still here making WPAs 🤣

Thank you, @Hookahhead_MD!

I sent in my Triple Maria WPA for some fine tuning, to try to achieve a tighter fit. It was just a little too loose to use confidently with the Tempest/Reload combination. The friction-fit of the head wasn't enough to overcome the force of the Reload's magnet. Brian is a magician with a torch, because he was able to shrink that internal diameter by the infinitesimal amount needed to reach the perfect tolerance.

Unfortunately, that resulted in some nearly imperceptible cracking. It's so minimal that I wouldn't have noticed--but Brian noticed, and he sent me a second Triple Maria along with the original. I'm currently running the original (pictured), and I'll keep the second in reserve in case I drop the first. If that weren't enough, he also sent along some fatter o-rings just to be sure. They aren't necessary.

I know we try to avoid negativity here (which makes this the best vape forum), but I feel the need to do a little shaming--of myself. I'm sorry that I originally aired this minor QC issue here. I was responding to another post, but the pile-on was really unnecessary. I should have gone straight to DM, where Brian would have responded with concern and courtesy. I'll try to do better.
