Too early for Holiday food? Here's one that I've been baking since I was a little girl in my Grandma's kitchen:
Sandies
1 Cup Butter
1/3 Cup granulated Sugar
2 teaspoons Pure Vanilla Extract
1 Cup All-Purpose Flour
1 Cup chopped Pecans
1/4 Cup Powdered Sugar
Beat butter for 30 seconds; add granulated sugar and beat till fluffy. Add Vanilla and 2 teaspoons water; beat well. Stir in flour and pecans. Shape into 1 inch balls. Place on an un-greased cookie sheet. Bake in 325 degree oven about 20 minutes. Cool completely. Gently shake a few cookies at a time in a bag with powdered sugar. Makes 36 cookies.
They end up looking like Snowballs. I like putting them in a glass container that I have, it's a Snowman. I wonder if he enjoys the extra balls!
