Does anyone subscribe ? Is it worth getting ?

I used to pick up a news stand copy once in a while. Get one or two that way and decide if you want one every month.

If you are looking for information use the internet. If you want to browse through some very, very pretty pics of weed, get a High Times and a drool pan. High Times has interesting articles, no doubt, but like Playboy (of old) you didn't really get it for the insightful prose.

High times doesn't have a lot of 'new' information, but you can learn a thing or two and of course, look at some lovely nuglies.

I've never subscribed but I sometimes pick one up when I'm flying. Airports usually carry them.

I'm a huge newbie so I definitely feel that at least getting a chance to see some really nice bud will prove advantageous when meeting new dealers and seeing the "goods"... At least hopefully keep me from getting ripped off too bad

scale...nickle (.05 cents) and standing tall/confident will get you legit sacks every-time


if you dont know what the nickle is for its to check if your scale is legitimate. when put on the tray it will weigh out to 5 grams EXACTLY. If you don't have a nickle then use a 20 dollar bill. It weighs exactly 1 gram.

i would buy an issue here and there, but stopped that completely when almost every one of the budshots was "digitally enhanced" by adding a colored tint to the picture. that plus nealy every ad being for the "legal buds" (pretendica) really put me off.

i found cannabis culture to be a superior mag in almost every category, but of course, there are some articles that have some very informative information in the ol high times and thats what really makes or breaks a magazine.

Tokin is right on, they did mess with the bud pics a lot. I figured it was creative studio lighting, red gels, blue gels, but I'm old school and forget about all the digital stuff. Still, enhanced or not, plenty of drool.

You can't calibrate a scale with coins. A nickel can easily weigh 4.85g or 5.05g. They don't all weigh the same after they've been in circulation for a while. Neither do bills. Can be a useful comparison, but far from exact.

I dont believe I'm hearing this. Dude every single time I weigh out a nickle it will equal 5.00 grams. Yea that's right I have a Palmscale 7.0 so I know what im talking about. Oh yea and 20 bills are always 1 gram as well...I don't know where your getting these "facts". If they do weigh any less/more then its never more than .05.

yep I was pretty much always high when I picked up High Times, too...

cannabis culture is pretty cool, I'm lucky and have a friend that always gets it so I just steal his copy when I want to check it out

I just picked up both from Barnes and Noble. It was a bit odd at the register with the very explicit bud porn on the cover but whatever haha...

I just read through cannabis culture and liked it alot. It was crazy cool seeing some of those sexy strains but I thoroughly enjoyed reading the articles about the conventions in California, Barry Cooper (nevergutbusted), and the one about Marc Emery's ongoing legal issues.

Haven't gotten a chance to check out high times but as of now I'm a bit weary as you guys mentioned it was more bud porn then content ...
