Another thing to bear in mind is the relatively infinite complexity of the confounding variables when it comes to our perceptions and understanding of the neuro-chemical process following exogenous cannabinoid modulation.
For example, dopamine response and sensitisations plays massively into the effects of cannabis - and many more substances.
In a study, heavy cannabis users (2oz a month) required an increased dose of methylphenidate for equal symptom control in ADHD (if i recall the context of the study correctly). Thus indicating dopamine down-regulation (or dulled response through many possibly mechanisms).
Another study that will show the staggering complexity of drug effects is that which compares morphine tolerance and response in familiar and unfamiliar settings respectively.
In this study one mouse was administered saline and the other morphine daily, a test is performed to quantify the pain threshold of both the control and opiate injected mouse.
After time the opiate injected mouse's pain threshold fell to that of the control subject indicating a tolerance to morphine and its analgesic effects.
It is at this point they remove the mouse from their familiar settings and repeat the daily routine - however the lighting, temperature, texture and material of the surroundings were changed.
It was found that the pain threshold of the opiate-injected mouse jumped right back up to the same level as first time opiate administration.
This could explain why heroin addicts seem to overdose out of no-where - it seems the mind has a way of preparing the body for processing of a substance based on situational cues. Simply taking a person out of their realms of familiarity can completely alter the effects of a drug.
This is why i ALWAYS get higher when i should be sober, like before a class or meeting an ignorant family member
I do agree, getting high in the morning will mean you will get less high in the evening.
Though i would outright refute that how high you get first in the day imposes a limit until you sleep and awake once more.
I regularly consume a small amount in the morning and then the same amount in the evening, sometimes i don't get as high - sometimes i do.
I notice that a day of novelty and physicality will make me much higher than my morning smoke even with the same quantity.
Shit is way to complex to pretend any of us know the answer haha, even the most revered academic and expert in the field is a long-shot from a holistic understanding of the situ.
