sooooo, finally i had the time to test it in detail. first of all: it does not have a negative smell or taste. What I've smelled the day it arrived was pipe tobacco they have used in it before
(that's also what I've thought I've smelled, to be honest)
the herbstick also does get hot enough and it CAN produce a lot of vapor... but it doesn't! However, I've found out what's the reason for it. It has definitely something to do with the mouthpiece. If you have it attached: very less vapor BUT if you put it of, the herbs emit a lot of nice vapor, instantly.
can you please confirm this
@PPN ?
the question is: where does it go?! It does not come out of the mouthpiece, that's for sure.
So actually I think it does not get enough air to build up the vapor (OR the vapor gets too thin, when mixed with fresh air, but I doubt that, since vapor should leak out of the mouthpiece, which does not happen)
the good news here is that this is a problem the company should be able to fix and if they can, this seems very solid. it definitely has potential! anyway, that just shows us again how important it is to do proper beta testing!
btw.
@PPN is it possible that they have used your unit before, too?
mine smelled like some sweet tobacco vanilla/caramel flavor or something and 2 days ago he told me that he has used pipe tobacco in it. I've only told him that it smelled funky to me!
Maybe they have used a fruity pipe tobacco in yours?
