Hey guys!

So I discovered a site where I can get both for the same price for 199.99CAD (Vaped.ca) in Canada, and I've come down to these two options.

I am hoping that those with experience of both can chime in and help with my purchasing decision. The criteria's that I am looking for from most to least importance are as follow:

1. Efficiency (I have an Arizer Solo, I'd like my desktop to be more efficient without sacrificing taste and vapor quality - I like clouds! :))

2. Noise - I'd prefer that it would be as silent as possible during operation

3. Application - I will be sharing with one other person on a consistent basis. We are using stem draw currently, we might consider using a whip or bag, but definitely won't be using a bong in the short term. :p

4. Size - I don't think either one of these are bulky, but I think the E-Nano is smaller?

5. Warranty - Which one provides a better post-purchase experience? I know both of them offer a 3 year warranty, but has anyone dealt with either for post-purchase support?

Also, is it worth purchasing the Herbalaire Elite over the H2.2?

That's all I can think of for now, kind of high off of Blue Dream atm. Happy Vaping guys! :)

P.S.
Some of you may wonder why I didn't make a poll instead. Well I know the Enano would win by default as it's a significantly more popular device. However, when it comes down to it, I choose quality over popularity. :)

I think you really need to determine if you plan to use a whip or bag that often. - I personally don't care for the whip, and haven't been convinced a bag is worth the investment in a bag filling vape. In fact, I actually looked at the herbalaire h2.2 before I bought my first desktop vape (Nano).

The E-nano is a great vape (it cured my VAS!), and many users on this site like it dry with a stem. But the Nano really shines when you perch her on top of a bubbler. It's so small (think the size of a redbull can)

There's a LOT of cheap high quality glass over in the glass section of this site (just look for the biggest thread). I never imagined I'd have a bunch of bubblers. But I have had over 10 different glass pieces for the price of two pieces at my local shop! (Two of my exact pieces were listed for over $150 each when I paid under $35 on DHgate!)

Personally my vote is for the e-nano if you do not think you want whips or bags.

The E-nano is a powerful device, I have used it in a group setting (8 people). It had plenty of heat to go, the only problem was the load sizes (have to stir/refill every few hits).

However I often use it with my friend (just the two of us). It works very nicely for two people (each get's one solid rip, then a few smaller hits before the load is cached). For reference, my average load size is approximately 0.1g.

I can only answer questions for the HA 2.2

1. The HA is very efficient for whatever amount you're using (no need to grind either. It might require more materials than the nano since the crucible is big. The abv is the darkest I've seen out of all my vapes. It's crazy how much is extracted.

2. I'm going to say both are noiseless, but if your using bags for the HA then the mouse will becoming from the pump, stock or aftermarket.

3. Bags are good with a group and with the HA, you could blow up as many as 5 at a time. You could just drop in a packed crucible when it's done and continue on.

4. Both are small and lightweight. It comes down to personal looks.

5. Haven't had a problem with my HA yet.

Personally, I don't think the elite is worth that much more over the 2.2. It has an LCD screen and a different mouthpiece/crucible system. Oh the stock MP of the elite is a stock tong. For me, I just bought the elite rings tor bags, that's about it.

Efficiency
Ahh, efficiency-the term that means different things to different people and is mostly myth when it comes to quality models.
I like clouds!
That says 'efficiency' means (to you) whichever model will produce the most vapor all at once. To others, with a different concept of efficiency, that same big hitting model would be inefficient. Let's just say that inefficient means it doesn't work well, and I really doubt you'll get anyone advising you to get a poor performer.
The HA has a pump if you're filling bags. The bags will probably make some noise when filling too. The nano is silent unless you're using water filtration.

The HA is a little larger but both are easily held in the hand with direct draw use. It's a non issue.

herbalAire is one of the best companies, service wise, that you'll find (I should qualify that by saying my personal experience with them was some years ago). They don't even seem to care where you buy or how much you pay, unlike some other companies.

Epicvape gives FC members a lifetime warranty, but since it's a one man company, the reality is that the warranty lasts as long as Andy wants to stay in business and/or fix or repair non working units.
is it worth purchasing the Herbalaire Elite over the H2.2?
I have the 2.2. Might even be a 2.0. I can't remember since I bought it in '06. Still works fine though. I'd probably buy the cheaper version.

Some of you may wonder why I didn't make a poll instead.
Polls here are mostly meaningless. It's easy to click a poll but you don't know why they're choosing one over the other or even if they're familiar with the choices.

I've used both of these vapes over a period of years. The HA is more versatile due to bag fill, but if you're not going to use that method then the nano wins in that category. Most people who enjoy the vaping experience end up preferring direct draw. Group vaping is where bags come in handy. You don't need technique to suck vapor from a bag, and clumsy fucked up people can't break 'em. The nano can provide varying hit sizes from direct draw and bigger ones using the optional gong adapter. I don't really care for the HA on direct draw. If you're not sure you'll use bags, I think you'll be happier with the e-nano.

Hello MisterChew,

As an herbalAire and Nano owner, I feel well qualified to answer this question. The short answer is, I use my herbalAire much more and would recommend it over the Nano

1. Efficiency (I have an Arizer Solo, I'd like my desktop to be more efficient without sacrificing taste and vapor quality - I like clouds! :))

The Nano can produce a bigger cloud from smaller amounts of material, that's where it shines. But overall is it more efficient? I would say no after having looked at my AVB loads under microscope many times. The HA extracts more completely and evenly, there are less "micro-trichs" left behind.

2. Noise - I'd prefer that it would be as silent as possible during operation

IMO, HA wins here because it uses teflon connectors for glass, so there will be less clinking. When used with pump it's definitely loud but that's only if you want bags or fan assist on the bubbler (modular system).

3. Application - I will be sharing with one other person on a consistent basis. We are using stem draw currently, we might consider using a whip or bag, but definitely won't be using a bong in the short term. :p

HA is way easier to use in groups. Can use a large amount easily, don't have to stir (this is pretty important for slowing things down in groups), yeah it's basically rip away until the bowl is done, very easy. Also it is much much less breakable than the Nano imo (wait till you break some gongs and have to order new ones, then get the wrong size back, not uncommon occurrence unfortunately... oh if you go Nano I recommend Joda gongs).

4. Size - I don't think either one of these are bulky, but I think the E-Nano is smaller?

Nano wins here but HA is not big like you said. It can be used on top of bubblers just like the Nano, upside down. Just make sure to get the TonG accessory, that has 14/18mm connectors. It has a much deeper stem to fit into the bowl, which makes it so much more stable and enjoyable to use. Although a simple bent neck glass 18mm female MP on top of the stock MP is a quite nice experience (my current preferred).

HA won't fit with some glass as much as Nano will, but there are still plenty of great options, like FC-187 etc.

5. Warranty - Which one provides a better post-purchase experience? I know both of them offer a 3 year warranty, but has anyone dealt with either for post-purchase support?

HA is better again I would say, especially since you are in Canada, like them so shipping will be faster, etc. EpicVape (Nano) has some support issues. They are overall good guys and eventually get things sorted but it can take a while for issues to get resolved.

Also, is it worth purchasing the Herbalaire Elite over the H2.2?

The Elite gives adjustable fan control on the unit, a larger bowl, and most importantly digital temp control. So if you want to play around with exact vaping temps and such, then it'd be worth it. Otherwise they function very similarly AFAIK.

I've written more about this topic before, check out this post for more: http://fuckcombustion.com/threads/l...st-vape-enano-or-lsv.13834/page-2#post-714525

As a quick HA starter kit I'd recommend: TonG 2.2 water tool attachment, 2 sets of ceramic discs (they fit so well and add a lot of versatility, for example I'm using 6 discs, herb, and 1 disc on top for a very convective sipping experience with stock MP and 18mm female bent neck glass MP), 18mm female glass bent neck MP (like this, could get it from DHgate probably for cheaper), and some silicone tubing for the pump (better taste).

Feel free to pop into the herbalAire thread or PM me if you have anymore questions.

How much stirring do you need with the HA? Is it even needed? Sorry for hijacking this thread :)

@hukhuk

The HA never needs stirring, whether it's used with ground herb or whole nugs. In fact, I always suggest to peeps that the more you compress your herb in the crucible (bowl), the better it works.

And direct draw mode into a bub or bong is where the HA really shines, IMO.

@421 .. Thank you very much for your thorough, descriptive, and well-informed post. I'm sure myself and others have learned alot about these 2 vapes.

Which one would you say will work better for primarily stem draw application?
