Tanuvan said:Just bought this. In concept the vapor attachment is sound...however the glass attachment does not stay on the iron as good as DBV or the like. It wiggles about, and while you can adjust it...it just has the feel of something not very well designed for the iron.
The metal holding the glass should be purposefully made, rather than a piece of thin metal bent and slid on arbitrarily. The diameter of the base relative to the glass is too much, such that the glass, bent metal, and iron do not make a stable attachment.
Insuring a solid connection that doesn't move around should guarantee satisfaction with this product. Until then...
...suffice it to say that I think the Herb Iron + Vapor Attachment is a reasonable vaporizing solution.
Do you think the Vapor Attachment from Herb Iron would fit a temperature-controlled soldering iron such as the Hakko 556??
Perhaps i should visit their web site and search to find if they offer their own selection of "De-Luxe" soldering irons, just in case the Hakko might be one of them...
There's this video of the HI and the Hakko side by side, just to compare the elements visually; of course the Hakko has no temperature control...
What's the risk of combustion like on this?
